Hopefully he just asks Ron Adams tonight if he'd join his coaching staff.

It sounds like Demps is the bottleneck in all of this.

These are my presumptions about how Demps' contract affects things. Let's not treat them as facts. I always thought he and Monty were a package deal because of it. The fact that he didn't get fired might suggest that Loomis feels differently. There are several reasons why he might not care. He might view himself as the person with the opinion that matters, he might like Demps enough that he expects him to get an extension after this season, or his replacement might already be known and involved behind the scenes.

Are there any assistants on the "current" staff that you'd like to see retained? I personally like Gates, Hanners, and Vinson but of course all three wouldn't be brought back.

No. I would want a whole new deal.

Gates is thought of pretty highly, was even in an "up and coming assistants that could be coaches one day" article this year. As much as many posters here hate giving Monty credit for player development, Kevin Hanson has been given a lot of credit for developing AD. Vinson has been given a lot of credit for improving shots. I'd be happy seeing all 3 of those guys retained. But they aren't the only people in the league that can do what they do.

I don't know what kind of sources Jordan Schultz has
I searched "im hearing" and "being told" on his twitter history.

Its a shite show of his "sources" being a million percent wrong. Its a joke.

The latest was him starting the Thibs to LA rumor, which Kupchack has already said is BS.

Don't know if there's anything new in here, but PBT put up an article about Gentry & the Pelicans job this afternoon.

LINK
quote:

Gentry, who was interviewed by Pelicans executive vice president Mickey Loomis and general manager Dell Demps on Monday night in San Francisco, believes the opportunity to coach star forward Anthony Davis could be career defining, according to a source close to Gentry.

”He’s more than interested,” the source said Thursday morning. ”He really believes that this is a job that would certainly define him as a coach because of the opportunity that it creates.

”Certainly this is one of those jobs that you feel is probably as good as any job available right now, no question. Even if there were no other jobs, it would still be the best.”

Oh, and they put a picture of Lindsey Hunter in the article instead of Gentry.

Kind of funny.
