I doubt its true. If the Rockets are just gonna dump him, they will do so to a team out of division or conference. If the Pels are gonna get him, they are going to have to make the best offer, and I'd bet that would require a first

I'd rather Rubio if it costs a 1st

i'd take Beverly over Rubio and i like Rubio. but id like to see them go full tilt with Point Boogie/Davis.
a guard who doesnt need the ball, can hit 3s, and defend well is a great fit for the Pels. and Beverly is only 2/$11M. a lot of flexibility there

What is the PG market right now though? Nets, lakers, and 76ers have their PG issue figured out. I assume the Mavs will draft one as well. And I couldn't imagine Jrue would want to go to NY either with that shite show going on. Add that to the fact that hill, Lowry, Teague, mills, Beverly, etc. are available for the most part. Don't you think his value is going to tank?

Lots of talk about the Pels zigging when everyone is zagging.
but if they are just going to play 2 high usage bigs in a normal spread PnR scheme with a ball dominant PG, there's not much zigging going on. and i dont think that style maximizes both Davis and Cousins.
i wouldnt be upset with Rubio at all. he's a gifted passer and defender. i would have loved to have seen him play as the PG in the pre-Boogie Davis is the 5 Pels.

me too
and the possibility of trading cousins or not re-signing him makes rubio the smarter move, to me

Beverly is an effing boss. He's underpaid because that's always been the culture of the NBA. Good, pesky defenders with attitude just don't get big money.
He's improved so much as a shooter, and I just love his fricking confidence when it's "dagger time". He just seems to hit those shots when you need to put opponents in the dirt.
He's also a competent backup lead guard. Bev at 2/11 is gross.

Free Agency Scuttle: Houston is making Ryan Anderson/Lou Williams/Patrick Beverley available via trade to create summer spending flexibility

I wonder if that means they want to package Bev's good contract with Anderson's shite contract and move them together. I don't see them getting an asset for Anderson's contract alone.

I'd rather have Gordon plus Beverly than Ryno

In a vacuum, I agree. But, I don't fricking want Gordon

The Rockets like all those players, but it was also clear in GM Daryl Morey's recent visit with @ZachLowe_NBA that Houston has big plans.
Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Paul Millsap and Kyle Lowry ... four free agents Houston, according to league sources, plans to pursue in July,
Zach Lowe talked briefly about this on his last podcast saying he didn't see a path for Houston to get to CP3 because of Ryno being such a bad contract. If they cut the cuttable they have about $13 million in cap space and need to get over $30 to go after those max guys.

James harden back to SG?

maybe you could talk a team into Anderson
the pels know too much but others might not
maybe he ages into a korver type but korver has size on him

He may work over in Charlotte or Miami. They both need PF help. (Assuming Chris bosh still isn't playing)

Pretty sure Miami is cutting Bosh under the "career ending injury" rules which won't count him against the cap.

Yup. Too bad we can't do that with Asik. You could argue his career ended three years ago.
