Per source, Jimmy Butler has informed Cavs that he wants to stay in Chicago rather than be traded to Cleveland.

Gotta wonder what that says about what he feels LeBron is going to do

Couldn't the Pels put together something that rivals this? Something like Jrue sign and trade + Diallo + future first?
How are you going to force Jrue to agree to a contract with Indiana? If Indiana really wants to trade PG by Thursday, how to you circumvent the free agency rules and allow him to negotiate that contract before free agency begins? Not realistic.

It was just a random trade idea to show we could potentially have some value to bring to Indy for PG if they waited till FA begins. Also I never suggested that specific trade would be done by Thursday.

Holy shite that is a clusterfrick of a website. I'm not sure it is possible to glue another ad onto that fricking thing.

What is the market for Beverley looking like?

I know it's inherently tough to pull off a trade with a division opponent. But I'm just curious if we'd even have enough to get him assuming the Rockets could look past that

Only way Rockets move Beverly to us is on an overpay. Otherwise they move him out of division.

I figured as much. But what would constitute overpaying?
Next year's first and Moore?

that's insanity
Beverlys not worth even close to a 1st much less another player
Houston can shop him all they want but they aren't getting a return like that

Marco Belinelli, Lou Williams, Old Kyle Korver all have been traded for 1sts in the last year. I think they could get a late 1st for Beverly.

those three are scorers
nobody's trading a first for Tony Allen 2.0

Beverly may not be a scorer but he shot 38% from 3 last year, so he's not exactly Tony Allen either.

Well yeah that's why I'm asking. I have no idea what his value is. But I know he's a solid point guard on a good contract. He plays good defense and can hit 3s. That's not a bad replacement

Would be interesting if the Lakers end up not getting PG13 if they go get Beverley to allow Ball time to develop his rookie year...

Would mean a Clarkson trade no doubt

Beverly is better than Jrue and will be paid 35% what Jrue will be paid next year. I'd give up a first for him in an instant. He would be fantastic here.

If we did that, what space would we have left and what other moves could be made at this point?

Assuming Holiday walks you'd have about $7 million in cap space after absorbing Beverly. You could still stretch Asik to get another $7 million.

it wont be necessary, in my opinion he can be had for less

literally ANY talented PG would be better than holiday at near-max
