You know what, I was literally looking over Hill's numbers last night. I was going to suggest him today

Would love to have him. That's the kind of moves we need to make

Guys only 25 and checks all the boxes we are looking for

If they can get him for a reasonable deal, I'd be all for it. He's leaving the Pacers for sure.

Just had a report from an NBA GM suggesting he will get $7-9M this offseason. I would love to be able to upgrade to a real SF for that type of money. A high energy hustle SF who can can actually shoot, defend multiple spots (including ball handlers) and play small ball 4. We inquired about him at the deadline, but no traction. He makes a lot of sense and realistically our ability to offer $$$ plus a starting role should intrigue him.

If Demps sticks around, I definitely think we make a strong push to sign him.

Pacers are kicking themselves for not picking up his option.

Pacers can only offer him $2.3M since they declined his option. No chance of going back there.

I'm aware, which is also why it would have been stupid for the Pelicans to trade for him mid-season.

Didn't think about that.

Did he have a Trevor Ariza Contract Year playoff series or something? During the season Indy seemed pretty justified in not picking up the option.

Pacers sent him to summer league and seemed to kill his confidence/piss him off to start the season. He played really well after the all star break when he started getting more minutes and then earned money in the playoffs (11-19 from 3).

The option was only $2.3M. He is a solid bench player and rotational small ball 4 for them.

Similar situation occurred with Austin Rivers going to the Clippers. Luckily (I guess) for them, he sucks and wasn't going to get more than his declined option.

I'd punch my mom in the face for a guy like Gordon Hayward on this team.

Jrue/Hayward/AD would be awesome.

Realistic:

Barnes
Parsons
Batum

He continues to get better. People flipped, but he's worth that contract.

Is he really going to stay if they miss out on the playoffs again next year?

Getting Batum or even Barnes would be a nice splash and a big upgrade. Tossing aside how realistic it is, I'm not sure throwing either guy a max is the most prudent move for where this team is now.

Going after 2nd tier guys a la Portland last summer makes sense to me. They need more just competent NBA players and guys who can fill roles. You believe in Holiday/Davis? Great, build out around them. A guy like Hill, still young, at a position of need, and perhaps ready for a breakout is a good bet. Courtney Lee would be a solid addition/Gordon replacement. And so on.

If the cap jumps to $110M after this coming season, he'll be able to go wherever he wants. If the Pels want any chance of landing a guy like that, they have to nail this summer and return to the playoffs.

I think they can get back into the playoffs with just a few minor tweaks and just non Hindenburg level injuries. Less confident on how they do this summer. I'm just dreading seeing the tweet about them moving the 1st for Knight or Brook Lopez or Monroe. Or that they have acquired Rose or Rudy Gay.

If Dell/Gentry stays (which I am against), I do not want them to make any major moves. Draft a wing, sign Hill to a reasonable contract, sign Fraizer, and fill out the roster. I just hope Dell doesn't trade for a huge contract or do something stupid like offer Fournier $18M+ or something else that severely handicaps this team going forward.

i dont want to spend on either, for the record.

i agree with adding small pieces to fill roles
