I would love to debate you further but you keep chopping up my phrases to only further troll an otherwise decent thread.

Korver is a fricking liability on d even compared to EG, but since he shoots threes at an elite rate he's valued over EG, who can SHOOT THE THREE AT AN ELITE RATE

If Gordon is truly an ELITE 3P shooter, I'd like to see him crack the top 40 in 3P attempts. Dude should be hoisting left and right if he is truly a 45% shooter from 3

Korver is shooting volume at a near 50% clip. The threat of him knocking down 3s changes defenses. I'm not sure how many fall in to the elite 3p shooting category, but Korver and Gordon aren't in the same realm of shooters

Anyways, he should enjoy his best season in NOLA under gentry if he stays healthy. Guys like Raja Bell balled out in gentry' system. Gordon really doesn't have a reason not to

He shot 5.2 a game...
Korver is literally 10th with 6.0/game

I think its more on coaching than him. I'd take him in the 42-43 range if he shot 7-8 a game.

that's what im saying

Anderson was hoisting 7+ a game the past few years. If Gordon truly is elite Id like to see him get those shots

In reference to Korver, the difference between 5 and 6 per game is more substantial than it looks on paper. Him being such an accurate threat from 3 changes the game for ATL. I want to say they were top 5 in points per possession with him on the floor.

One way or another, you should see Gordon's true 3P ability next season in Gentry's O

This is the most objectionable thing in your entire post.

Interestingly enough, Korver isn't going to convince Gordon to turn down $15.5M. This conversation is about a year early, in my opinion.

Just curious reading this thread - How do people rate Gordon as a defender?

Talk all of it in; On-ball defense, off-ball defense, help defense, defensive versatility, defensive rebounding, etc. On a scale of 1-10, what would you rate him?

5

Solid to good on ball, weak off ball, non existent rebounding. I think he can put up a fight with bigger guards in the post, but I don't think he's sound enough that you want him switching all over the place.

Some of the rotation/help stuff may be more systemic/teachable. At least , that's what I'm hoping.

this pretty much sums it up. For the most part he keeps his guy in front of him. He seems to rotate REALLY slow off ball.

I actually always thought Gordon's off ball defense was decent. Nothing to back it up, though

Lets keep it simple, he's an average defender. Nothing elite, nothing glamorous, but he at least -tries- when he's out there.

You won't see him napping like another guard. If he gets burned, you're going to at least see him try to cover his man.

And hopefully with our new Defensive coach that will change Reke has the tools to be a really good defender.

when he first came to us before the litany of injuries, it always seemed like he jumped the lanes and came up with a couple of steals. I dunno if it was Monte's system or what, but that was all but nonexistent this past season.

That's fair. Tough to say either way without knowing what they were supposed to do. I dont think he's Evans level off ball. Like mentioned above, he tries.
