Lou has certainly had his injury issues as well. He missed 67 games over the past few years prior.

EG is an elite 3 point shooter as well.

This is a non story to me. He's a goddamn fool if he opts out. With his injury history and newfound ability to shoot threes at an elite rate all that is left is for him to develop back into someone that can finish at the rim, then he can get big boy money the following year.

I really believe that he can show up in the best shape of his career next year now that's he's had a full offseason of workouts. That should translate into finishing at the rim next year.

And for the love of god if the refs don't call more fricking fouls for him I am seriously going to fricking have a stroke. He gets no calls. It infuriated me so much during the GS series.

His floor should be top 10 SG, with a ceiling for top 5

I am all for the Pelicans getting him to opt out to extend him to a discounted rate.

Are we still in 09? He's 27 now at best he's just a avg starter.

He could play like a top 7-10ish SG in gentry's system. I could feasibly see 17/4/4 a game with a very good 3 point%

He's already bought in.

Harden
Klay
Butler
Middleton
Monta
Knight
Danny Green
Joe Johnson
D Wade
Demar
Beal

All these guys are better scorers and muchhh better defenders than Gordon. Gordon is a terrible defender, he is too slow to guard a pg and too short to guard the sg.

Demar can't shoot from outside

Knight is inbetween a PG/SG so i don't think he really counts.

I would take EG over a 34 year old joe johnson

I wouldn't call danny a better scorer. He's a better defender but was inconsistent scoring in SA.

JFC there are some retards in here. On what planet will EG be a top 5 SG? This is MSB level retardation.

The other day I was thinking the way Gordon's skill set has changed he's kind of like a Korveresque 3 point specialist. Then I looked up Korver's stats and he's only averaging 12.1 ppg?! How is that possible? The legend of Kyle Korver is bigger than Kyle Korver the man. He only scored in the 20s 7 times this season, Gordon did that 12 times and broke 30 once. Ryan Anderson broke 20 10 times and 30 twice even with as rough a season as he had.

Most people would agree that Korver is a steal at $6 per, what do you think he'd get if he were a FA this year? Because the production says Gordon is better, but the way Korver was talked up this year you think he'd have to be at least a $10 million player right?

And before anyone posts about spacing I realize Korver brings more to the table than his own points, but we're trying to figure out what Gordon would be worth on the open market, and Korver is probably a closer comp than the top SGs in the league. Most of the guys listed are long and have a much different game than Gordon.

Korver will actually play 70 plus games.

Korver shoots almost 49% from inside the arc and EG shoots 41%.

Defensive stats all tip in KK's favor. As does W/S VORP etc, and all by a solid margin.

If Demps picked up the phone, called ATL and asked them to trade EG for KK straight up, what do you think they say?

Korver will be paid more than EG by a solid amount when the time comes.

Probably what you're implying they would say, I just was completely shocked when I saw how low his scoring was. But I didn't mean to distract from my main point, 504ByrdGang listed about 10 guys that are or eventually will be $15ish million players or higher. It's silly to compare Gordon against those guys, I think Korver is a closer comp, what does Korver get on the open market this year? Then add in your discounts for Gordon's injury history and not being as accurate.

Saturn. They play D League at best.

But on Earth, while not a top five SG, he is a very good player and contributed this past season. The question is how much is he worth. I guess we'll figure that out after this next season.

Can you back this up for me? Other than his catch and shoot from 3, and to a lesser extent his passing, I see no evidence of this.

What is he very good at?

ETA: GI's strenuous defense of all things Monty/Gordon make me laugh.

He was one of the better pocket passers to a big on the pick and roll. He dribbles it off his own leg too much to want him running your offense full time, but there were quite a few times during the season where Gordon executing the PnR was vital to wins.

I noted his passing ability already.

GI, Gordon is your boy. What is he very good at?
