So far, I will take back some of the ugly things I have said about our front office. They seem to have drafted well, and are stocking the cupboard with some very good young free agents who may actually be able to help us.

Meh, it depends on what type of players Moore and Hill become for this team. We invested a lot of money and expectation in a couple of fringe bench dudes with high upside.

It could work, but it could also crater us.

Coming off 30 wins in year 4 of Anthony Davis, this team is in the crater.

Like the moves. Basically what most Pels fans said they would be happy with- singles. Still need another (not slow) big though. Not eager to roll w/ Asik, Ajinca, Diallo even if Hill will see plenty of time at the 4

I'm having a hard time getting excited about what they've done so far. Let me be clear, I'm not melting or freaking out or hating what they've done, I just am having a hard time seeing how the roster has improved. I like the Hield pick, but as far as FA goes, I'm not thrilled about Hill, Moore & Galloway. I like them as spot guys who could help an established team, just having a hard time seeing how the franchise is going to make a jump based on these guys. I guess I'm just forgetting what it's like to have a healthy core, I don't know.

The only reason I'm happy is because these signings actually make it seem like we have a plan for the first time in the history of the New Orleans era.

Like, Darren Erman is probably excited as frick with all the perimeter defenders we've signed.

Ok, with that mindset, do you think Moore & Hill help brings the team out of the crater?

For me, I just have a lot of apathy towards the signings... I just don't see it being a significant improvement over what we had last season.

That is true, there does seem to be a plan. I don't know, it's just weird to be "excited" because we signed Solomon Hill. I could definitely be proven wrong.

I just really hope they aren't planning on trading Tyreke just for the sake of trading him. Roster gets really sketchy after AD, Jrue & Reke

I think our defense will be so upgraded that we can afford to dip on offense a little bit.

Well, all the guys we've signed can guard multiple positions really well and that is something we didn't have last year.

After last year's all d league squad, we at least seem to have a plan. Plus we didn't give EG or Ryno max money

Defense should be better, that's true. Like I said, I'm forgetting what a healthy core is like so I hope that happens.

Exactly. This year was never about taking a big jump IMO (there was really no way to do it either). We were absolutely trash on defense last year and went out and signed versatile defenders. I have hope now that we can at least be a solid, competitive team this year. I realize that doesn't excite everyone but it's at least heading in the right direction.

This team had horrendous basketball IQ last year, and I'm thrilled that seems to be intentionally changing.

The biggest decision maker on this season is coaching. We don't have a lot of talented player but guy who play hard and know their role. So Gentry and Ermab better coach their arse off. Because with out good coaching this team will be arse cheeks.

The team was bottom 5 in defense, largely because of our terrible perimeter defense. We may not have a bad perimeter defender left on the roster. If all you do is run Jrue/AD Pick and Roll with 2-3 shooters parked on the 3 point line you should be able to have a top 10 offense and an average or better defense. All of a sudden you're a much better team even if you have less talent.

I think the improvements will come in regards to health (hopefully), defense, and fit. What they lose in overall talent, they should be able to overcome with those 3 things.
