it would have been a PR nightmare to let the biggest prize from that trade just walk to the Suns

Blocking sign and trade options was Dell's signature move.

Listening to the latest Lowe Post podcast and hearing them talk about Chicago and how nonsensical their offseason has been by giving a Pace and Space coach 2 ball dominators that dribble out the clock and pairing Rondo and Wade with another ball dominant guy in Butler really helps put the Pels offseason in perspective. Considering who we got rejected by, the alternative to all of these low key signings is doing what Chicago did and what Demps had done in the past, getting the most talented players they could regardless of fit or redundancy and planning to figure out the rest later.

I know some of you are not impressed by what you've seen so far, but this is realistically about as good of an offseason as you could hope for. Next is the hard part. Since we are going to be less talented, we have to rely on coaching to make this a "Whole > Sum of Parts" cohesive unit. That's right, good coaching will be required to get back to the playoffs

but I still feel like he always thought he could move Gordon, and EG never stayed healthy enough to get a decent return. Not to mention Gordon was thrown into our laps as a Chris Paul make-up star, and it would have been a PR nightmare to let the biggest prize from that trade just walk to the Suns

I agree. Despite how it turned out, he couldn't let him walk.

Never really got the hate for ajincas contract. Its very cheap for a competent back up big.

Asik I understand but he'll be really movable if he just gets 30-40% better.

I don't hate the ajinca contract. It made sense. I hate the contracts together
