I think a trade is done by EOD Monday. I think we are going to get a LOT of leaks/media manipulation/negotiations today now that the season is over.

Totally agree, been saying that awhile.

FWIW, a certain former poster said awhile ago that we would see major leaks end of this week and through weekend, and then a deal done on Monday or Tuesday.

I think thats going to be prophetic.

Idk if Tatum is off the table, waiting may not be a terrible idea. Perhaps a guy our FO covets falls to a team and suddenly their package looks much more appealing than it did pre draft because we didn’t expect said player to be there.

Which still doesn’t deal a deal for LA.

On general principle, I don’t want to make a deal with them unless it is so unbelievably one sided that Billy King and Ted Stepien could go “Man, that’s a bad trade for them lakers.”

This may be a dumb question, please forgive me if so. I usually don’t follow the offseason as closely as I have this year.

If one of the main assets we want is in Washington, why would we need LA to get that asset from the Wizards? What’s stopping us from negotiating with them directly?

Do they have nothing besides Beal that they can or are willing to part with? Or do they not want to gamble on AD?

What’s preventing direct negotiations between us an Washington?

i'm not so sure about this
pels know who they are taking at #1.
the second round picks they are already scouting for and have been.

whoever the lakers take at 4 (or the knicks at 3) will still be an asset. the celtics picks are a crapshoot, but i cant imagine ainge really wants to add all those rookies. they could easily trade them to some other team for a future asset and not change the calculus of a davis deal.

as free agents start signing, the pressure will go WAY up on the lakers and others...and the cap logistics change dramatically

I mean, on one hand I get that as a fan, but that's not happening, and Griffin won't hold out for that.

Is any side not being disingenuous at this point though?

Ainge is likely doing the same thing with Tatum as the Laker's attempted to do with Kuzma... pretend theyre untouchable, then when it comes down to it, throw them in the deal like they are going to be the thing that gets the deal done.. final offer type of shite

Will ainge really risk being left without both AD/Kyrie and falling further behind The Bucks(or even Philly) when the championship window is wide open?

Same poster that assured us for months Tatum was in play and the most likely deal?

Washington is so fricked right now between Wall and their current roster composition that they need a ton of young assets rather than a star.

We don’t have those pieces since Zion isn’t going anywhere, but the Lakers might.

Everybody knows AD to Wiz would be 1 year loaner. So they not gonna give up Beal for that. ANd they wouldnt contend next year regardless.

But if we can get Beal, while giving Wiz future pieces from someone else they might.

We don't have assets to give Washington for Beal, nor do we want to when we could use the Lakers assets to make it happen.

Washington does not want AD.

The wizards need future assets. They’d be dumb to take a chance on AD.

You want to make the picks yourself to fit around Zion. Also if you intend to move those picks, you need them before the draft. Picks are like new cars, as soon as you make he pick and the player shows up 30% of the value is gone.

The pressure is on LA to put together a winner immediately or LeBron is gone.

That pressure works in our favor.

I think that Griffin normally wouldn’t do it but the horseshite from Klutch and AD means they sure won’t make it easy on the Lakers to get AD.

thats best case scenario no question.
but if waiting gets you better other stuff, it may even out

I don't get predictions like this.

Deals get done when they get done.

Not even Griffin is going to know when a deal likely gets finalized unless he is setting a hard deadline which makes no sense.

For instance, the rumors that Boston is waiting for a hard decision from Kyrie. Well, Griffin nor Ainge can know when Kyrie is going to give that or in what capacity. So how can any of them knwo when a deal will get done?

bullshite meter will be going off the charts.
