OMG! THATS GREAT NEWS FOR THE LAKERS!!

UGHHHH! JUST GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT! WHY ARE WE MAKING IT SO HARD ON THE LAKERS TO GET AD!?

Problem with that is the draft is 6 days away.

I think Mannix’s interview jibes with the report that the Lakers think we are using them to up the Celtics offer. I would expect we might hear something today about the Pelicans clearing hurdles/moving further towards a Lakers deal.

Hopefully a deadline was given, which I assume it was if Boston is asking you to wait, and at that point you say "I gave you a deadline of offers by Saturday at 2PM" and if they aren't at the table then well, their loss.

If we have to wait until after FA starts, we are going to get a very shitty return. Basically if a deal isn't done with Boston it's going to be shitty.

Trade absolutely needs to get done before the draft, with either Boston, or the Lakers.

I'd say to everyone just to relax. The game is the game. AInge is smart. He wants to see if we really do have a deadline, and he's going to use that against us.

Sit back and let's see what happens.

He was talking on NBA radio. He said pretty much everything but Tatum is available without an indication from kyrie about returning, but no Tatum. He said Ainge wants time to try to find out if Kyrie will stay with an AD trade. (Though the Roc Nation hire probably isn’t a good sign).

I don’t think we can wait a whole lot longer, hopefully Ainge can find out by Monday.

Ainge seems to be a disingenuous bitch. He pressured us to wait on him supposedly guaranteeing that Tatum and more would be available. Now, he wants to hold out the best asset and ask us to wait on him, with the likely outcome being we are left holding the bag? It is starting to seem that we really only have the Lakers deal as an option. Maybe that is why the Lakers feel so cocky that they can hold out Kuzma.

I think a trade is done by EOD Monday. I think we are going to get a LOT of leaks/media manipulation/negotiations today now that the season is over.

His only way of keeping Kyrie is to get AD IMO....
So waiting on Kyrie to make an offer is basically killing the deal, bc a Celtic deal without Tatum is no deal at all

Ainge can go to hell. We "slowed the trade talks" for 4 months for that a-hole under the promise that he would make Tatum available along with a huge deal this summer. Now he wants us to wait to appease him? I would tell him he has until midnight to add Tatum or else lose my number.

We don't know what was "promised" especially if Kyrie didnt' return.

Right. Wait or don’t wait you aren’t getting AD without giving up Tatum. Might as well decide now if trading for AD is worth it

It didn’t sound like he wanted us to wait until free agency, but more like give him time to see if he can convince Kyrie to commit to re-sign if AD is there.

Either way, I would say give him the weekend and no more.

Well Kyrie is likely to either give him no assurances, or give him an assurance that he's leaving.

I hope I'm wrong, but if retaining Kyrie is the key to getting Tatum, I think it's over for Boston
