Perhaps an outlier but when I saw him it was not a substantial part of the show

Comments, sure. Anything remotely near needing to “endure” them? Nope.

You must not have seen him in the last decade then. It's not just "a few comments" or a rant between songs. It's a big part of the visuals and imagery as well. Like I mentioend earlier this latest "not a drill" tour is way toned down so not as big of a deal but a few years ago during the "us + them" tour it was almost unbearable.

I used to get hardcore into the music torrenting in the OiNK, Waffles, WhatCD days but when all that stuff went down I had already moved on to streaming music for the most part. I'm guessing this is the spiritual successor to those? If so, I'd love an invite if you have one to spare.

Yes, that's exactly what it is. And I do have an invite. Shoot me an email at my name and just change the 3 to a 28 at Gmail.com.

The fact you can say with a straight face that waters groovy baselines are the signature of what makes PF great is laughable. Dude could barely play a bass guitar. His voice is crap.

He is more an artist than a musician.

I never said that. Stop making shite up. I said it was a part of it, especially the earlier stuff. I am and have always been team Gilmour. But I will not discount the fact that Waters was the creative part of the earlier, more successful, material. And his bass lines were just fine.

He is a anti establishment clown and I dont agree with anything he preaches. But he was a HUGE part of why Floyd was sucessful

waters is a great writer, visual artist and arranger

he is also an average bass guitarist and mediocre acoustic guitarist

he was a very spotty singer in his prime and is terrible now

Gilmour is and always will be the real genius behind Pink Floyd

his writing, playing, arranging and visuals are all timers

Wright never got his due for his contributions either

Mason is a good drummer, not great

All of this said and WOT, Fearless and Time are my three favorite PF songs

I actually thought Waters album from 2017 was pretty good. It surprised me how much I liked it.

How can you say this with a straight face when comparing Pink Floyd's output with Waters to their output after he left? There's a clear and significant drop in quality.

Either Waters was the genius behind PF, or PF was greater than the sum of its parts. I lean toward the latter.

Then let us compare Pink Floyd before Gilmore, Pink Floyd with Gilmore and Pink Floyd without waters. Waters and Gilmour together we’re obviously better than either one of them on their own. But lyrics without music are just stories or poems

songs require the music.

Gilmore was the genius behind the music.

Pink Floyd put out excellent music after Waters left. Not equal to what they had when waters was there. But excellent nonetheless.

PF can be favorably compared to Led Zeppelin in that plant wrote most if not all of the lyrics but Page was the actual guy behind the band that made it all work. Page was the lead guitarist, rhythm guitarist, arranger and producer.

When you go back and look at all of the old Pink Floyd documentaries The majority of the overdubs that were put on to the rhythm tracks were Gilmour. Gilmour even played bass overdubs for Waters on some of their songs.

Disagreements about arrangements and Waters ego versus Gilmore’s ego are the two biggest issues that caused Pink Floyd to split.

For me, Waters did nothing Worth Talking about after he left Pink Floyd. I don’t like his solo stuff at all.

I don’t care about Waters politics, he is an egomaniac. His politics and his desire to force them on his audience is just part of his egomania.

By the way voice to text spells it Gilmore, not Gilmour. I am too lazy to go back and correct all of them.

Gotta love it when people who have never heard a band before comment on said band.

Momentary Lapse and Division Bell are fricking awful. I remember liking Momentary back when it came out, but now that I have much more listening under my belt, it's so lacking compared to classic era PF, it's cringy to the max.

I've seen Pink Floyd twice, in DC and in New Orleans, dipshit.
