If you haven't heard of redacted.ch and are comfortable with piracy, you might could find some stuff there you don't have have. Unless that's where you've already sourced it from.
I used to get hardcore into the music torrenting in the OiNK, Waffles, WhatCD days but when all that stuff went down I had already moved on to streaming music for the most part. I'm guessing this is the spiritual successor to those? If so, I'd love an invite if you have one to spare.

I think so, but I think most of us would all agree that gilmours guitar tone and solos were really what drew us to the music.

It was a mix for me. My first Album and the one that brought me on board was Meddle. I got it as a Christmas present from a stoner cousin who forgot how old I was. I was about 12. I immediately fell in love with it. Echoes and Fearless especially. I then got Obscured by Clouds then DSOtM.
I think there was more of a group effort in the earlier days with the writting. Before Wish You were here. Roger started driving the ship more then and there were good and bads.
Later years no doubt Gilmour's play was what I enjoyed the most. Even though the writing remained good. For people who mostly listen to the Floyd from DSOtM and after, there is some excellent stuff on the earlier albums. Go back and try it.

I struggle with the earlier albums. Just don't grab me as much. See Emily Play was a good one of course.

I mean, we are talking mere seconds in a multi hour event?
Perhaps I was blessed but I have seen many political artists and never recall more than a couple very brief comments from any of them. In the order of perhaps 1% of their set
If it’s the music you don’t like, I guess a different story but the commentary and such is pretty minimal

Oh no, he goes on rants for a few minutes at a time.

People in the audience: “please stop lecturing us and just play music!”
Waters: “No, I’ll never stop. I hate trump with ever fiber of my being, and I will make it my mission to tell every audience I’m in front of, multiple times per night, how much I hate him”
justaniceguy: “omg those people in the audience are obsessed with politics!”

Perhaps an outlier but when I saw him it was not a substantial part of the show
Comments, sure. Anything remotely near needing to “endure” them? Nope.

Green is the Colour, from More, was always one of my favorite early songs. I guess it can be called early. It wasn't a Syd song, but it was on the first full one without his influence. The melody is one of my favorites ever.

It was pretty significant when we saw him. Enough to where my GF didn't enjoy it as much. I told her ahead of time but I don't think she was fully prepared for the scope of it. Some of it is mixed with stories about the songs as well.

No, of course not. That would be AN INTRUSION ON THE ENTERTAINMENT YOU ARE PAYING FOR.
It's okay for others to complain about it His antics aren't showmanship. They're the arrogant ravings of a musician. Nobody fricking cares about or listens to the political rantings of Waters outside the arena. The only reason he does it is because he's self deluded himself into believing that his "voice" means more than a rat's fart in a whirlwind. It doesn't. Nobody gives a frick.
So to Roger I'd say, "with all due respect, spare me the boredom of playing host to your tantrum, Roger, and just play the fricking songs, okay? That would be great! Thank you on behalf of your audience."

If it bothered me that much I wouldn't go in the first place. It's not some secret he hides. If you want to see the show, you do it on his terms. That's the way it works.

He has gotten more vocal and more out there the older he has gotten. He has nothing to lose now and had doubled down on his crazy
Roger really is a odd bird. He truly believes the world does not need to be policed. That we all just need to live in harmony and help each other with no structure. His bid for empathy is just over the top and I really thought he was back down as he got older but he just went over the edge even more

Except his songs were always political.

And his sickly, shitty voice is like nails on a chalkboard, and his lyrics are whiny neurotic bullshite.

This is why even though I’ve been aPink Floyd fan since the early 80s, I would not go see Roger Waters even if you gave me free tickets. I go to concerts to Watch the musicians perform, not lecture me on their political manifesto.
I did get to see Floyd when they came too B’ham and played Legion Field in 1994. One of the best concerts I’ve even attended.
I take it a step further than most. I refuse to financially support any Leftist Anti-American, anti-freedom loving, misfit no matter their talents. I won't watch a movie, play, listen to a band, nor even speak with those despicable types, and that includes any Leftists I encounter on the street.
Screw 'em all, let them die in their self imposed miserable existence while I enjoy the freedoms we Americans still have.
