I'm hoping the politics won't be too ridiculous since Trump's out of office, but if his interview with Rolling Stone this week about his politics is any indication, I have very misguided wishful thinking.
hayve you ever been to a waters show? Ever?
In fact, within about 10 seconds of the lights going down, before a single note is played, he even says to the audience "if you're one of those people that says 'oh I love pink floyd but I don't care for roger's politics, you can frick right off to the bar now'"
Granted, the policial shite is actually WAY scaled down from the last show I saw of his 5 years ago, but it's obviously still there. As long as you know it going on it shouldn't be an issue. I went to hear a living pink floyd member play some of my favorite songs, and that was mission accomplished. All the other shite you just put up with as part of the deal. I was also a bit surprised that he dished it out to biden and the left a bit as well.

Yeah, I kinda felt that way, too, but my wife's dad invited us and offered to buy tickets if we flew into town to see it with him.
Looking at the setlist for this tour, he does 15 Pink Floyd songs and 5 solo songs -- I think I'll have a great time regardless of the politics, as long as he isn't like changing the lyrics to the songs or something.

You can be annoyed about it, I would be too, but if you are refusing to see one of your favorite musicians because of politics then yeah, you are obsessed. Same with Garth brooks, and Robert earl keen, I have seen people online say they won’t spend another dime on his music or wouldn’t go see him for free and I just have to laugh.

I haven't, but I'm very aware and know what I'm getting into

This is what I meant by my hope for the politics -- I know it was really bad during his tour while Trump was president

This is pretty much why I'm going along. We're really hoping to make it to one of Gilmour's or Mason's shows.
I'm still mad at my parents for not agreeing to fly me out to London in 2005 for their Live8 show when I was in high school.

100%. And it's Gilmour. Pink Floyd was just another band struggling to create a sound until Gilmour arrived.
I personally like Gilmour too. The voice, the guitar solos. That’s what I want to hear.

Brother in law saw him about a month ago. He did say there was some political content, but it was a great show.

We're abotu the same age. I would 100% go if I were you since this is pretty much gonna eb the last chanace you have so see any live Floyd members. I can't stand his politics either but don't let that be the reason you look back 30 years from now and say you never got to see em.

Yeah this is why I agreed in the end. I have a ton of regret not seeing Tom Petty at Jazzfest 2017. My wife and I are big 60s/70s music junkies and have been traveling all over to catch some acts while we still can, and we're getting back in town in time to catch John Fogerty, Herman's Hermits, and the Beach Boys this weekend in Gretna. But Pink Floyd and the Beatles are the top tier for me -- we caught Paul McCartney in Orlando in May which was an amazing show.

This is correct. Very few love that band like I do but I have seen Roger a few times and it was a few times too many. He is what he is. He is never going to change and he does not give one frick what you think
There is nothing like paying a guy that hates capitalism $500 to see him in concert.
I appreciate his skills back in the day but he can frick off forever

I'm a huge Floyd fan mostly of Gilmour... Waters is one of the least talented musicians to ever have that level of success.

I’ve never been to one of his shows and I can appreciate his music and the production he puts in. But whenever I bring up YouTube videos I always prefer the Pink Floyd shows over his. I know it’s prob diff going than looking at a computer screen. But that’s all I got.
Obviously I would prefer Pink Floyd with Roger, but if I had to choose between seeing roger waters and Pink Floyd without waters, it’s still Pink Floyd without waters.

I went to see him when he came to KC a couple months ago, and wish I would have fricked off to the bar. Not because of his politics (I expected that), but because he didn't play enough Pink Floyd stuff for my liking. He played a lot of his new stuff, which I don't really like all that much. I saw him a few years ago and it was a much better concert then than what he's doing now.

Saw him in New Orleans back in 2017 or thereabouts. I ignored the political bullshite. Other than that crap, he puts on a really good show.

I'm sure you've seen him more than I have but after this last show I remember thinking that I'd had my fill. Even if by some strange scheduling quirk he does play another show nearby in the next year or so and is still "with it" enough to perform, I don't think I'd want to go.
I'm glad I've gotten to see him sevearl times but like you said I think I've seen all that I've needed to at this point.

Rog has been a “spent force” since about 1983.
Maybe the rest of the band should sue him into retirement.

Yikes. They would have had to rehabilitate and trot Syd's arse out there for me to pay that. I'm not a Roger fan, though.

I would prefer Gilmour over Waters because I like guitar first and foremost, but the rest of your statement is in no way true.

I would do anything to see Gilmour again but I think that ship has sailed. I dont see him doing anything else. I think he is happy and content with his life and grandkids and I dont blame him one bit. Dude had done his work and has nothing to prove
I think Roger wants to be relevant until the day he dies even if he isnt to so many.
He puts on a hell of a show and he is so talented but he is just such a arse, I do not enjoy his show. I guess its just the hate in me that does not believe anything that he does.
In my opinion, his voice is so far gone, its not like seeing the same guy anymore. He has some concerts on Youtube of this years show and you can tell he is beyond his years. He just surrounded himself with so many talented people and they basically do all the work while he preaches to you and tells you how big of a piece of shite you are
I dont need to pay someone for that
