It's clear that Ford is a schizophrenic with multiple personality disorder and created Westworld to form his own reality. Everyone is a host and Arnold was Ford's imaginary friend when he was growing up

Ford is a host created by Arnold... killed Arnold (or clone of Arnold) because he wanted to be like him (see the parallel to Robert Ford killing Jesse James)

Arnold was weak when his son died and dropped his picture of wife/son which Dolores's father found and it fricked him up

Ford created Bernard to fill the place of Arnold (see anagram)

Arnold is either now AI or still alive or something... haven't figured out where Arnold is yet, possibly inside Bernard's mind

This show still has me all fricked up

I hope William and Man in Black meet face to face to put the William in Black theory to an end.

Judging by a promo video released a month back, you may be getting that. You're at least getting Delores in her new clothes (that she's wearing with William) meeting the MiB face to face.

Wait a second.

Delores can't shoot a gun. But then she kills that dude while having flashbacks about MIB. She takes off and arrives at Williams campfire.

So how can the MIB be a version of William who is 30 years older?

Yea me too man. How do y'all suppose Logan escaped his situation to form a posse of his own to hunt down Delores and William. I'm still confused about can the hosts physically hurt the real humans or not?

They can hurt the guests. Punching and stuff like that. They aren't supposed to be able to kill the guests.

Well the park runners weren't gonna have anyone sit in prison for the rest of their vacation. The Confederados are probably designed to start a new loop for the guests that end up in Logan's position. And other loops are probably set up for any guest that finds themselves locked up anywhere in the park.

Hurt but can't kill. The farther out from Sweetwater a guest goes the rougher hosts can get I imagine. Also could be based on the guests profile from before they enter the park.

The Well-Tempered Clavier

quote:

The Well-Tempered Clavier, BWV 846–893, is a collection of two series of Preludes and Fugues in all major and minor keys, composed for solo keyboard by Johann Sebastian Bach. In the German of Bach's time Clavier (keyboard) was a generic name indicating a variety of keyboard instruments, most typically a harpsichord or clavichord – but not excluding an organ either.

Hummmm. No clue about the meaning in the context of the show.

Could have something to do with the idea of a "fugue state," which is sometimes used by clever fiction writers: LINK
The appearance and disappearance of recurring memories could be somewhat analogous to a fugue.

Does everyone else have to read episode recaps like me? Enjoy the show, but I'm apparently to stupid to follow it.

Arnold's reasoning for becoming AI was to delete his difficult memories regarding his family... evidenced by the comment Ford makes when deleting Maeve's memory "a trick from an old friend"

Also, on rewatching ep. 8, Ford talks to Bernard in the opening scene almost from the perspective as humans being something other than himself... was interesting word juggling he was doing
