you are correct. however, this episode is also better than at least half of the episodes from season 1.

I could definitely do without the gay cop angle, and they spend too much time on VV and his wife, but at least the show is now picking up steam.

Best episode of s2 thus far. Here's hoping it continues to a fun conclusion. There's so many things in play I'm not sure where it's going. That could be good or bad, we'll see.

All this. Woodrugh just serves no purpose...Velcoro & Ani have better chemistry & stories. I'm guessing he plays a vital role at some point or else why?

Here's a wild thought. NP has said oedipus Rex was an inspiration for thus season...what if when Ani goes undercover as a hooker she runs into her dear.Ole hope dad?

The scenes between Woodraugh and his mom are enough to satisfy that connection for me

Maybe thats just his insecurity of being a gay/shitty cop but Kitsch just sucks overall. Literally no need for him whatsoever.
That's why I think he'll have a majory storyline tie in with whatever the big hoorah is at the end of the series.

Some of the dialogue can be frustrating. Like when the chick takes note of the buzzards circling and the other guy says "We're following birds now?" This is a "detective" and he can't figure out why buzzards circling might mean something? Come on.

If you've ever been in a Hodor thread you know how much shows have to telegraph things for some viewers to be able to understand what is going on.

i'll stand by this. the last few episodes of season 1 were bad. some parts of the earlier episodes of s1 dragged a little, but things like Daddario's tits and all the mystical bayou shite disguised that.

This past episode was great from start to finish. Maybe i'm overrating it slightly because the previous 4 episodes were trash, but it definitely did a lot to tie things together and reinvigorate my interest in this show.

I've meant to mention this before. TD, last season or this season, is not intended to be "realistic" as most people think of the term. The dialogue is purposefully constructed for reasons of theme, character and story . . . like most noir movies.

There have been at least a few exchanges where I'm positive they brought in David Mamet to punch up the script.

Episodes 4 and 5 of season one were as good as tv gets

Finally got around to watching the latest episode and it was the first time I didn't get bored at any point. Really good episode. I felt like I was actually watching TD for the first time this season.
