The lead character is basically an SJW.

Instead of Captain Kirk, they have a female black lead...wreaks of a social justice type move.

Surely it could still be good though.

I would agree that the cast screams DIVERSITY DIVERSITY DIVERSITY. Also changing the Klingons again makes no real sense. The trailer really doesn't have me inspired.

The CBS ALL Access nonsense is doomed to fail. I wouldn't be surprised to see them move back to the network tv pretty fast. If they don't, the show is doomed to die.

Even with all the knee jerk negatives, I'll still watch it. I haven't picked up a sci-fi show other than Westworld for a few years now. Need something new. Not optimistic.

Enterprise is probably going to get some relief now. It will no longer be the shittiest shortest lived Trek show.

I'm going to watch and excited to see if they came up with something original and inclusive of the original Star Trek. I'll wait to see it before I cry about it.

The cast screams diversity? Jesus what is wrong with people?

Original series.
Had, blacks, asians and even a ruskie in the 70's.

Why does it bother people?

Also, let's ignore the black Commander/Captain running Deep Space Nine and the woman commanding Voyager.

I guess I am in the minority that actually liked it.

Ignoring the fact that it started it all....I put it above the TOS

DS9, TNG, enterprise, voyager is my order. I haven't watched most of TOS. Will give this a chance.

I liked the characters but messing with time is always problematic. Always leaves too many plot holes. I watched all of Enterprise when it came out so I didn't hate it. In fact, it was finally getting good when they cancelled it.

The Dark Universe episodes were awesome and it was really a nice touch that they came up with a new opening theme for the Dark Universe.

Having said that, it is perceived as the worst iteration of Trek by many.

CBS All Access is entirely based around this show. You're paying a monthly fee to watch one show. No one is signing up to watch reruns of Young Sheldon.

I enjoyed Enterprise for T'Pol and Hoshi. By far the two hottest crew members in any of the series

Too bad posting hand bras is illegal here

I am watching it. I'm a bigger fan of Star Trek than Star Wars. I don't mind paying $6/month for good Star Trek content. Though I wish it was on Netflix. What's interesting is that outside of the USA, the new series is available thru Netflix. I guess CBS All Access is only available in the states for now.

Supposedly CBS spent 7-8 million per episode and Netflix footed the bill. So it better be good.

Also, there is supposed to be 2 episodes available tomorrow. The first one will be shown on regular CBS, but the second episode will only be online on CBS All Access.

FYI, CBS All Access lets you watch all episodes for the other Trek shows (ToS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise).

Different races/ genders doesn't bother me, thrusting this "racial diversity, inclusion and -ism etc." shite in my face does.

Saw an interview with the lead and nearly the entire conversation was about her being a black woman and being the lead.

I guess the show itself wasn't interesting enough to discuss?

I want to know about the show, and i could care less about her race/ gender, focus on the fricking show.

Time will tell.

There is precedent for this. Paramount used Voyager as the anchor show when they created the UPN channel.

Maybe not Young Sheldon, but I'm sure there are ton of people who would want to watch Big Bang Theory, CSI, NCIS, Hawaii Five O, all Star Trek TV series, etc. There is a ton of content available on there. More stuff I'd rather watch there than on Amazon Prime.
