Also, there is supposed to be 2 episodes available tomorrow. The first one will be shown on regular CBS, but the second episode will only be online on CBS All Access.
That kind of bullshite just wreaks of desperation marketing to me. Reminds me of when Disney put out an Avengers cartoon but it was only available on some Disney FX or some bullshite channel that I wasn't going to get another whole package to get.
I may watch the first episode to see if it's good. But I'm not gonna get another whole service just to watch one show. If it moves over to Netflix at some point I'll watch it (if the first episode is good).

So after tonight for me to watch this I have to pay $6 per month?
Is this right?

I'll watch but I ain't paying for it

I'm with ya'll, watching the pilot but I'm not going to pay for CBS streaming service just to keep watching. That's why this series will fail if they don't keep it on network tv.

Liked the intro but I have been a Star Trek fan forever good or bad years. Of course Apple has the first commercial.

I'm old enough to have been with ST since the beginning. I am not sure about this 10 year before Kirk time frame. The potential for inconsistencies in the timeline is huge...

I don’t care, Star Trek on TV, bring it on.

I think they'll put season 2 on tv
Posted on 9/24/17 at 8:05 pm to Byron Bojangles III
I think this will move back in season 1

It's seems pretty good so far. Great special effects, feels like a big production, like a movie.

They can’t spend this much on production and keep it in their paid service.

The episodes cost $8 million to produce and NetFlix is paying $6 million per episode for the show. LINK I know I won't be seeing this until it shows up on NetFlix but CBS is practically playing with house money so I get why they are trying to do this.

You can see the money that CBS/Netflix threw at this. This is a beautiful show so far.
Its painfully slow right now though. However, I am still very interested in seeing what happens next.
In-game assessment: so far, so good.

Well, they have completely changed Klingons. They look different, their ships look different, they seem much more religious than ever. It's cool and all, but this conflicts with the Klingon race in ALL the other shows and movies.

CBS can’t force feed their service on us and the advitisers will pull out if they keep it under their paid services. I am enjoying this first episode.

Oh shite. This is pretty serious business.

So is this not going to be on tv? This is something competing with Netflix and Hulu?
Posted on 9/24/17 at 8:52 pm to cssamerican
Yeah its bullshite, first episode on TV and then moving to their paid service. Just don’t think it will last under their paid service.

After this episode you can only see it on CBS’s paid streaming service. Netflix is a partner though as they have the rights to international distribution. So it’s basically a team up.
And btw, if that’s all we get to see in this first episode then frick CBS.
