came in to post this. despite my posts in here, i'm usually very pro-defendant and want to give every conceivable doubt possible. adnan's case doesn't work and i can't see past it.
Perhaps you should read this, then. She utterly obliterates Urick's self-serving account of the affair. IMO, Urick should be prosecuted himself.

Urick is either a ridiculously sloppy attorney, or else a liar. It could go either way, but it is inexcusable regardless. He falsely represented to a witness what the phone records showed, in an effort to coax her testimony into fitting his narrative.

That's awesome. I hope Urick gets what's coming to his corrupt arse.

I really fell off the wagon with this. Has anyone been listening to the new podcast?

Yes, not as good as Serial, but they have put a whole lot more doubt in my mind.
When Serial finished, I leaned to Adnan being guilty, but these podcasts are obviously pro Adnan, but damn there was shady stuff going on. The cop coaching is ridiculous.

Personally though, just hearing Jay and Jen in their own words contradicting the stories they presented previously and each other has been eye-opening. The detectives' interactions with them have also been quite troubling too.

I don't know how you think he could have been guilty after listening to Serial. When it ended, I fully believed that Jay set Adnan up and I can't understand how the jury came to a guilty verdict with little to none evidence.

And that is your problem. Read the reddit serial page or better yet read the court documents about the case. You'll end up changing your mind completely. Adnan definitely killed Hae. The only question is the extent of Jay's involvement. Did he have prior knowledge about the crime before Hae was killed? Was he involved in the planning of the crime with Adnan? Is he protecting a 3rd party who helped Adnan? I think Jay had prior knowledge of the crime and planned it out with Adnan which is why his story changed so much.

Adnan definitely killed Hae.

OK, give us the top 3 smoking guns that were excluded from Serial...

Fine, Adnan most likely committed the crime based on a number of things.
1. Asking Hae for a ride, lying about the reason (said car was in the repair shop when Jay had the car) and later denying that he asked for a ride to the police when he was questioned about it later
2. The "I will kill" note written in Adnan handwriting about Hae
3. Not calling Hae one single time after she went missing even though he called her three times the night before she went missing
4. Adnan's palm prints being on a map page of Leakin Park found in Hae's car
5. Buying a new cell phone two days before Hae disappeared and then lending his phone and car to Jay the day Hae went missing
6. Not remembering much about the day even though the police called him on the same day asking for his whereabouts. It was also the same day that he allowed Jay to borrow his car and new cell phone, met Cathy for the first time, got a call from the cops, his good friend's birthday, the day before a huge ice storm hit the area, etc.... In other words, it was a very atypical day yet Adnan has trouble remembering much about the day? I don't buy it.
7. Cell phone pinging Leakin Park towers when Adnan says he has his phone with him by that time and is at a mosque
8. Hae's diary entry saying Adnan is overly possessive
I could list a bunch of other reasons but it would take up too much time. Adnan either had the worst luck in the world that day or he was intimately involved in the murder. I would say the latter is much more likely.

This was addressed also. I believe the Lens Crafters boyfriend didn't call her either.

Everything you list here was covered extensively on Serial. I thought you had new info from some external review of the docs.
Fail.

Fine. Refute everything I wrote. And you're completely wrong about #8. Koenig actually talked about the diary entry in the podcast and then conveniently stopped right at the part where Hae delved into Adnan's possessiveness.

Adnan killed Hae. It is just so unlikely that someone would have that much bad luck. Not to mention that Adnan admits to hanging with Jay several times the day of Hae's murder - and Jay knows where the body is! But a guy as bright and popular as Adnan can't put together a alibi? Please.

He's the only person with motive. Jay is sketchy and may have been involved, but I'd bet big on Adnan's involvement.
This doesn't mean the prosecutors or investigators did a good job, or that he should have been convicted. But I do think he did it.
