So JEDI in the title is singular. The titles in both Spanish (El Último Jedi) and French (Le Dernier Jedi) indicate one Jedi.

Yea the title is definitely referring to Luke imo. Rey is not a Jedi yet and I don't think she will be one until ep. IX when she completes here training, same as Luke in ep. VI

I think the big surprise of this trilogy is her going dark side. I think IX will be her redemption and switch back.

The Force Awakens explicitly refers to Luke as the "last Jedi" on more than one occasion.
There's nothing to decipher here - Luke is the last Jedi.

As much as I like TFA, I really hope there aren't any similarities between Empire and The Last Jedi.
People make their jokes about TFA being just like ANH but I liked it and didn't mind the similarities. But if the same thing happens in The Last Jedi then I won't be happy.
This new one needs to be different and take some risks.

To me it just means the last jedi(Luke) to actually be trained as a jedi and officially be considered a jedi. Wasn't the whole story line of TFA to find Luke the last jedi. Now the new story arc will have more join his new temple/order and help to bring back balance to the force.

Can someone fark the Star Wars logo in different colors? The red really makes it pop. Also want to see the logo with the prequel style Episode VIII logo.

This will be Luke's movie. He will get a lot of meaningful screen time.
This title is about the weight Luke was carrying for so many years knowing he was the last jedi. We saw glimpses of the toll this burden took on him in TFA but we didn't see the whole story. This movie is going to unravel a good bit of how Luke got to this point and reveal the inner turmoil he is still going thru
