Your point #1 was from the books.

If point #1 is true, that means by definition, Luke failed and should have waited out the TRUE enemy...on the wings behind the previous true enemy (palpatine)...who was behind the initial perceived enemy (vader). Doing so would have prevented:

1. The death of Kenobi
2. The death of the new Jedi academy
3. The turn of Kylo

ETC

There you go again, making stuff up. You have no idea what would have happened when and if the new order returned. Some possibilities

- they war and destroy each other, along with much of the galaxy with Death Stars etc.
- they are received and integrated into the empire, solidifying the might of the empire
- the emperor defeats snoke, maintaining power
- snoke defeats the emperor, gaining power
- Vader uses one against the other, assuming power
- etc

In fact Luke and co defeated the empire and the Death Stars, saving the galaxy. Luke saves his father who becomes good again. Then Rey and co defeat the new order and starkiller, saving the galaxy.

Jedi is singular or plural.

1. The First Order are the remnants of the Empire that were sent out by Palpatine to the Unknown Regions and later returned after the Empire fell being led by a mysterious Snoke who is in pursuit of his own power.

This is not even correct. The first Order did not originate from a segment Empire sent to the unknown regions by Palpatine. The remnant of the Empire retreated into the unknown regions after the battle of Jakku, regrouped, and became the First Order.

I do disappointingly feel that very little has been resolved as a result of the end of Return of the Jedi. The New Republic lasts all of 30 years before being blown up, Luke failed to train new Jedi (those he was training shortly before Kylo Ren turned to the dark side do not count), and the First Order was allowed to basically become the new Empire.

There are certain things I would have expected to be priority number one for the fledgling New Republic. Chief among them being establishing the capital city on Coruscant not "Hosnian Prime." I can think of two reasons why the didn't. Number 1 is just Disney avoiding anything to do with the PT. Number 2 is that we will see the planet in Episode 8 or 9. Secondly, Luke's number one goal should have been to restore the Jedi order. How many Jedi could Luke have trained in the 30 years since the end of Return of the Jedi? I would think at the very least, the New Republic would have a small team of 10-15 well trained Jedi by the time of The Force Awakens, each with Padawans of their own. What was he doing in the years in between the end of RoTJ and shortly before Ben Solo became Kylo Ren (only around 5-6 years prior to TFA)?

What were the imperials doing on Jakku that was so secret, they would crash valuable capital ships into it to keep it out of the New Republics hands?

It's explained in the canon book Lost Stars, which parallels the time period of I through VI and ends before VII.

ETA: saw your other responses. Carbon Ridge was not mentioned in Lost Stars, nor was it implied that the Star Destroyer was specifically crashing into a specific location on Jakku. It was the ship that they didn't want the New Republic to have.

Why the interest in this Carbon Ridge?

You could say that, at the end of Revenge of the Sith, there were only 2 Jedi left, Yoda and Obi-Wan.

Ahsoka Tano left the order

Kanan Jarrus was still a Padawan and didn't complete his training. He was unofficially knighted by the Inquisitor in the Temple, but wasn't a full Jedi

We don't know whether Ezra completes his training

Technically the only one fully trained by a Jedi Master was Luke after Episode III.

So. Luke dies.

Or Rey learns to use both sides of the force.

Being a Jedi has nothing to do with force awareness. It's a training method and a school of thought. Luke is the last one. Rey is something new altogether. Same for Kylo

Was Luke fully trained in Return of the Jedi? I always thought he was still raw. He didn't train all that long.

I really hope this happens. We need a new paradigm of force users in these films, made possible by the chosen one, Anakin.

i assume he was honeing his powers and trained some. Once kylo turned, and killed everyone else, he went into seclusion because he failed and he doesnt want to train anyone because of the risk of failing again.

It wouldn't surprise me if Ren and Rey learn to use a balanced version of the force and team up to fight Snoke.

well being that im not a dork and wants to bring up everything about "canon" books and shite, I assume he is because yoda says he isnt a jedi until he completes his training by confronting Vader. Once he did that he was fully trained.

Him not training that long could be evidence that Luke is one of the most powerful jedi for just picking up things that quick. Or it could be just a flaw in the writing. IMO i dont really care and im just looking forward to the movie.

Isn't the plural of "Jedi" just "Jedi"? Couldn't they mean the last more than one Jedi?

This would really validate one of the main arcs of the first 6 movies.

I don't know if Jedi can use Force Lightning. Don't you have to pull from your own life force to use it?
