Yoda never said there was another jedi. Obi said he was our last hope. and yoda says there is another. Another hope.

I need GA Thrawn to be a thing, in these movies. Rebels isn't enough.

Given the above would have happened anyway, it can be properly assumed Snoke would have warred with the Empire upon their return

No you can not.

Meaning the Old Empire was coming to an end with or without the aid of Luke and company.

This was always true. The OT practically screams it.

Instead what we have is a bunch of heroes fighting for something that was inconsequential (and ultimately depressing).

No.

CONCLUSION: The real heroic story of the original trilogy boils down to an unknown tale of some Jedi slaying the right poon at the right time so Rey could exist.

No.

Lost Stars didn't answer what the imperials were doing at Carbon Ridge. We just know it's a research base, if memory serves.

Let me break this down.

1. The First Order are the remnants of the Empire that were sent out by Palpatine to the Unknown Regions and later returned after the Empire fell being led by a mysterious Snoke who is in pursuit of his own power.

2. Given the above would have happened anyway, it can be properly assumed Snoke would have warred with the Empire upon their return. Meaning the Old Empire was coming to an end with or without the aid of Luke and company.

3. So, the best course of action would have been for Kenobi to train Luke and stay alive waiting for the right moment to train the younger Jedi properly as they awaited the true enemy. Instead what we have is a bunch of heroes fighting for something that was inconsequential (and ultimately depressing).

CONCLUSION: The real heroic story of the original trilogy boils down to an unknown tale of some Jedi slaying the right poon at the right time so Rey could exist.

I present you with the story and how it was diminished just by restating the actual story and your response is NO NO NO NO?

With that kind of blind devotion, I guess the writers could write just about anything and it would be gobbled up at this point.

The canonical story of star wars now (as explained in the new movies and books), and how it diminishes the impact of the OT.

This is literally not the truth. That's what I'm saying no to.

No you stated your fan fiction version of what might have happened, but somehow assumed to be fact.

I take it you aren't well versed in Star Wars?

Read the book Aftermath - part of the newly reset Canon (as well as a few others).

If Luke dies then the last movie will be all of the new characters unless we get ghost Luke. Not saying that's good or bad. Just pointing it out

That wasn't fan fiction, that was straight from source canon, the new DISNEY books.

Don't get mad at me over it, get mad at them.

Your point #1 was from the books. The rest of your points were fan fiction. You even said you were making assumptions from there.

I am well aware of the new canon books, and that's not even close to the conclusion I draw.

You made up a bunch of nonsense. Get over it.

As someone on Reddit pointed out:

In the space of one film, we've gone from RETURN of the Jedi to The LAST jedi.

Pretty interesting.
