Is that Adam Sandler's career finally on its deathbed?

Another remake with a group of people that don't understand what made the original special.

That's evidenced by the fact that this movie doesn't even acknowledge that the first one happened.

How can you think it's ok to retconn Ghostbusters out of existence?

As for the cast, I was originally excited about Wiig and McKinnon, but the more pictures I see the less excited I get.

As for Fat Mcfatcount and the worst SNL cast member ever, them being together in the same movie is 95% a sign of the apocalypse.

This.

And it's the obvious feminist motive. Why not a mixed cast, men and women? What about someone of Asian descent? Latin?

Nope, just all women, which CLEARLY making this about feminism rather than just about people. Ghostbusters had almost zero to do with men, it wasn't a "man" movie. Just a movie. About 4 guys in a funny situation. This is throwing gender into the ring like it's making a statement.

Wasn't the early talk about this movie that it was going to be "scarier" than the original? I don't see how this is possible, considering the cast.

And for me, it's not just that. I fricking hate Paul Feig. I hate his movies with a passion. I don't get his humor, I don't get his style, I hate everything about his movies, including that fat piece of shite being in every single one of them.

The thought of this guy doing Ghostbusters is sickening. And to those saying "Then don't watch it" need to understand that it's not about whether or not I watch it. I definitely won't. It's them taking something that has been near and dear to me my entire life and shitting all over it. I've been cool with a Ghostbusters reboot, but the fact that it's getting made by that fricking no talent hack infuriates me.

Exactly...

I hate reboots as a rule...but there have been some good ones.

This though...the whole girl power BS will completely distract from what made ghostbusters a classic.

frick these people...no one I know is going to see it...much like that Fantastic four disaster that is opening next week...and it will be quickly sent to the ...what a dumb idea this was...bin.

I think the people need to start standing up to the hollywood bullshite. Those people have made a killing on half-arse bullshite thrown together, and thats shite. If they want their $$$, they're going to have to fricking earn it with effort, not just using name recognition to direct vomit on the ground into the theater.

Yeah it's ridiculous to hear this 'ruining my childhood' and 'pc' shite every time some one posts about the movie. If it had all men, it's still a movie trading on your nostalgia to replicate something that it isn't likely to match anyway. I mean this is probably going to be a broad summer movie that will be moderately funny regardless of who they cast.

The outrage is dumb. Then it leads to people one upping each other by saying things like 'women aren't funny.' Congratulations on sharing your stupid opinion on the Internet.

So would an all-male cast mean its all about an MRA agenda? BS. People are reading way too much into this. The movie might be funny, it might not, but it will live and die on its own merits. People who are pre-judging this film as either great or awful say more about themselves than the film.

And of course a reboot doesn't acknowledge the original. That's what a reboot is. People are way too uptight about this movie. Who cares that they cast four women? Honestly, I'm glad they did SOMETHING to make it different than the original instead of just rehashing it, as A) that is completely unnecessary and B) no one will measure up to Bill Murray. Better to make it different, while keeping the original conceit.

Btw everything about your Paul feig post was hilarious. I can't believe a studio would have let him take over a franchise that hasn't made had a new entry for 25 years. Granted his last few movies were pretty large successes, but I have to think if the studio knew the trauma this was causing you personally they would have rethought the importance of only focusing on their bottom line.

When we judge a movie to be good or bad as an individual, we are absolutely judging it based on our own opinion. Some people may like it, that's cool. Some people may like Paul Feig, that's cool, too. That's their opinion. My feelings are based on what I know about Feig and what his movies have been in the past, in relation to MY opinion. And I fricking hate his work.

Right? I'm sure they don't give a shite about what I think, just like I don't care what they think.

The hatred for this remake is really nuts and over the top. I saw Ghostbusters when it came out in 1984. I've seen it a few times since then, including when it was re-released a summer or two ago....it was funny, but it ain't perfect. The sequel was disappointing. Hollywood remakes shite and at least there are funny people involved in this. And it looks like they're remaking this with some love. I'm at least interested in seeing the trailer. And if the movie sucks, it won't wipe out every copy of the original

The people raging about this just sound like fedora wearing, neck bearded, MRA types. Especially when you're bitching about people visiting little sick kids
