He's directed three films: Spy, The Heat, and Bridesmaids. Bridesmaids was really funny, and I haven't seen the other two (and really have no desire to see Heat). He also was the co-creator of Freaks and Geeks, which was awesome, and beloved by many.

He's also directed episodes of The Office, Parks and Rec, Mad Men, Arrested Development, as well as Undeclared and Freaks and Geeks.

TV and Movies are vastly and conpletley different beasts.

Also, he's writing Ghostbusters as well as directing. He didn't write Bridesmaids, his only funny movie.

And he certainly didn't write or wasn't the lead writer on Arrested Development, the office, parks and rec, or freaks.

He did write Spy and his Ghostbusters cowriter wrote Heat and Heat 2

Yes I did. It wasn't horrible. It did nothing to show me he can write for women or that he wants McCarthy to be anything but fatty farty doodoo fall down and eat.

This is what immediately pops into my head every time I see McCarthy:

Yeah, I hated all of those. That's just my taste.

Believe it or not, I have yet to see the show. Maybe I'll check it out, but I don't know that it'll change my mind much given his work I've seen on projects he's had full control of.

I'm not even comfortable saying this guy has a thick enough resume to really have a style of comedy.
He really does. He's established a name for himself. His movies make money, too. People like him. Critics like him. It's just a matter of opinion. Comedy is very subjective. I don't have any personal hate towards the guy, I just don't like his movies. It's as simple as that. I don't find them funny and or amusing in any sense. I had to turn Spy off half way through. I thought it was awful.

I liked the show. Its worth watching. It had its moments, and Ive rewatched it a couple times. I'm going to get attacked, but it is easily the most overrated thing on this board. It has a ruthless outspoken cult following.

Honestly this is my main issue with the movie. She's going to be so loud and obnoxious that "ghostbusters" will be relegated to just another McCarthy fat funny slob movie.

They might as well just not call it Ghostbusters. Maybe take out the ghost part, and just make this is the female comedy version of the A-team.

I sure wish Harold Ramis were still alive.

All chances of a sequel with the original cast died with him.

They went 25 years without making another one. They were done even if he was still alive.

Right. I dont think that was a chance. There was a chance of a good reboot, but now, the eyes are X X .

I'm going to be an obnoxious dick when this movie turns out well and is a Jurassic World sized hit. Just a warning.

I'm sure they'll make money from all Of the zombies who want to relive their childhoods, but it's still gonna suck.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if it makes a shite ton of money. That doesn't make it a good movie.

I can almost guarantee it makes good money. That isn't anyone's issue.

literally goal #1 in modern moviemaking

That isn't anyone's issue.

so then the issue is that people who have nothing to do with movies or the movie industry aren't getting exactly what they want like children, or is it that women are in it?

so if this makes a lot of money that will mean a lot of people saw it and a new generation of kids will grow up with a new picture of the Ghostbusters and this makes 30-40 yr old men desperate for their whims to be catered to, sad.

It's not that we won't get "exactly" what we want. We get a shite movie. We get NOTHING that we want or what it has the potential to be. Again, that's a matter of opinion. You may get everything you want or may enjoy the movie. We're just talking about what we're not happy about. That's the purpose of these boards. For people to give their opinion.

Hey whatever man. I don't know why you care so much that we're not happy about it. I don't see why you're getting so defensive about this. You're excited about it, we're not. It is what it is.
