Had my second Movie Tavern experience on Saturday, and they definitely have their shite together compared with the first time I went, which was back in the fall.

Lots of staff working really hard, and they seemed to be in sync. Perfect timing as I was signing the check at my seat as the ending credits were just starting to roll.

Would still recommend reserving tickets online, several hours before your movie time. You definitely have to plan it out.

Also a great idea to get your first round of drinks at the bar, before you enter the movie.

We tried it again tonight for the first time since we went their opening week.

Awful experience.

The website says to get their 45 minutes before showtime so that you can find your seat and place your orders. We got there and they told us that they didn't seat until 30 minutes before each feature.

We were the first people in the theater and the only people for ten minutes. Took twenty minutes for a waiter to come into the theater.

Sat there for forty minutes before our drinks arrived at the start of the movie. Food arrived thirty minutes into the movie. (Both drinks and food were first brought to the wrong chairs, we had to call the server over.) We missed portions of the movie because we were dealing with the server and our food.

Ate burgers and fries with no napkins. Had to call for napkins, they arrived after we'd finished eating.

Brought us our check while the credits were running. We sat in the empty theater for ten minutes after the credits had finished waiting for our credit card to be brought back to us.

Add to that the waiters walking around during the movie with a bright credit card scanner and every food order being delivered during the movie.

This would be a great concept if you could arrive early and order, get your food before the movie starts, and pay your bill before the credits are halfway through.

As it was, I was the first there, had no idea what my food looked like, and was the last to leave.

Oh, and their seating purchasing system sucks. If there are three seats empty on the aisle it won't let you buy the two on the aisle because you're leaving a single seat in the middle. But it will let you leave the single seat on the aisle and force you to sit one seat over for no reason.

We won't be back.

We went once back in December to see Star Wars and had a relatively decent experience. Loved the reclining seats and the price for some of the beers was not nearly as high as I thought it would be. However, I ordered a diet coke and waited for what must have been 20 minutes for it to arrive. Had to ask someone before it ever showed up.

Last weekend we were going to see The Jungle Book so I reserved tickets online. About 3 hours before the movie we realized we were not going to be able to go. I read on their website that refunds can be given before showtime either at the box office or by following the link in your email from when you bought tickets. Well going wasn't an option otherwise I wouldn't need to cancel. The email did not contain any link. I called up there and they tell me they can just give me a pass for another movie. Fine but how will I know they will honor it when I show up next time? The guy I talked to had no idea what was going on. I email someone and am told to email it to a different address (why couldn't they forward the email on?) and then that email is never answered. I finally send another email a week later and someone gets back to me and sends me passes for another movie. I know we had to cancel but the whole process was so much more complicated than it should have been.

I'm taking my mom to Movie Tavern to see Captain America on Friday as a Mother's Day deal. She's never been so hopefully we have a good experience. I know that place can be very 50/50 on service.

I went last month and it wasn't that bad. We saw Cloverfield Lane, so it was an adult crowd and not too many unsavory types. The service was pretty good and it wasn't that distracting. It was pretty expensive, but that was to be expected. Not sure if it is the best atmosphere for every type of movie. Some movies I'd just rather have everything before the movie starts and not sure if I need to eat dinner while watching. I believe there is a median to be had though. If more theaters went to the reclining comfortable seats, retractable trays and assigned seating with more buffers. The experience would be so much better. I've recommended it to several people and will go back, when I'm in BR..

What do you mean when you are back in BR? Your location says you are in BR. I know it is hard to get your screen name changed, but it is easy to change your location.

Went to the Juban Crossing location last night for Captain America. Will not ever go back to either place. The only pro of that experience was having more space and being in that reclining chair. There were way too many people moving around during the movie and my feet were smacked on two separate occasions when people passed by with no apology. It ruined the movie for me because I couldn't focus 100% on it.

Plus my SO assured me my food would come prior to the movie if we ordered early and I could eat during the previews. So it comes during the opening scene and I'm stuck having to try and look down at my food in the dark while watching.

This shite is not for everyone I guess. Won't be back. Not worth the money.

Did a lunch movie with a client at the Juban's Crossing Movie Tavern and had a much better experience.

Much better when they swipe your card when you order, instead of asking for it at the end of the film (as they did at the Corporate Movie Tavern). Ordered right before the trailers, food came out as the movie was about to start.

Pretty empty theater. Food was okay, but not worth the theater prices.

It's just five minutes past AMC O'Neil, so I might go back for a movie that doesn't have a packed theater.
