Just curious what you guys work out of? Would love to see the various setups...
I just started this hobby a few weeks ago. I'd say as long as you have a good table or two you're good to go. You can pretty much have everything on the ground as well which I still do a lot. Not used t...

re: Calling wood experts! (Cypress table advice, UPDATE 1/31) - dualed
Well.... The 2 in particular that are on the bottom and to the right in that pic are both the same dimensions and one is 9.5' and the other is 6' (each 2 3/4" by 4" like i mentioned beforeL. The piece to the left on the bottom you can probably tell is a little thinner and is right at 2" x 4" a...

re: Calling wood experts! (Cypress table advice, UPDATE 1/31) - dualed
So here are a couple pics of the beams I intend on using for the bottom of my farmhouse table (the 2 on the bottom to the right, each are 2 3/4" x 4") I wiped a wet rag on them in the second pic just t...

re: Calling wood experts! (Cypress table advice, UPDATE 1/31) - dualed
I feel like 2" would be look cooler for what I envision in my mind, but just the 4 legs I have already cut are heavy as heck so I think 1" is more practical. Appreciate it. And 8" is the width I had in mind, but not due to cupping, just in general. Hadn't thought of cupping. When you say laminate...

Calling wood experts! (Cypress table advice, UPDATE 1/31) - dualed
Hey OBers! I posted on here recently about wanting to get into woodworking and asked suggestions on things I should purchase. I went out and bought all sorts of stuff and finally got the ball rolling! My dad let me know yesterday that an old house in town was torn down and there was some old cypr...

re: Starting a trend where women wear wedding bands like men - dualed
I'm gonna have to say 9.9 out of 10 women today that get engaged will say "hey look at my ring!" ASAP after they get engaged either in person or, more frequently today, on social media. My marriage is not for anyone else, it's for me and my SO. Now I obviously want to celebrate my engagement with fr...

re: Starting a trend where women wear wedding bands like men - dualed
I'd like to know this as well. Because diamond rings are like vehicles, they depreciate as soon as you purchase them. Unless you pay A LOT for it then it's worth money because it's on the high end of the spectrum but it's still worth less. This is just my opinion but the market for USED diamond ring...

re: Starting a trend where women wear wedding bands like men - dualed
 Paige I'm not bitter about anything. I'm 25 years old. I'm extremely practical. I'm just here tossing an idea around that I think would save the VAST majority of guys in this country some money that could be put towards..say, a house instead. And I'd be willing to spend a week's salary on a...

re: Starting a trend where women wear wedding bands like men - dualed
I will spend no more than 2k. That price may fall or rise as I get closer to proposing and see everything in person. I honestly don't know how far my dollar goes when it comes to purchasing this stuff. I don't expect to get much for what I want to spend but I'm stubborn when it comes to my feelings ...

re: Starting a trend where women wear wedding bands like men - dualed
Oh I'm not doing that  but I'd like to see it start to be done so we can finally get rid of that diamond hoarding a-hole company that drive the prices up. I'll get my SO a ring and band like everyone else but won't spend half of what the average person does...

re: Starting a trend where women wear wedding bands like men - dualed
No you just give them the band when you propose and that's it. How friggin hard is this to understand? You guys that are saying "good luck with that" must realize how superficial a woman has to be to be upset about this....
