I'm about to head in for a noon show.

Based on this thread I expect my butthole to never be the same.

Prayers please.

This is exactly what the Movie Tavern in Baton Rouge actually is, but with worse food.

Well, then that's a bad attribute particular to that chain specifically, and not dine-in theaters generally.

The place I go to has stadium style seating with rows spaced far enough apart (vertically and horizontally) to where other patrons smacking and wait staff walking around just aren't distractions.

They are definitely a second rate Alamo Drafthouse. I hear how shitty that place is all the time.

Are the pulled chicken nachos good? That's what I'm thinking of getting.

I have had no problems at the one in Covington, they must have gotten through all the growing pains by the time I started going.

Saw TFA at the Grand in Lafayette this past weekend. Cost $7.75 per person. Is it normally this cheap or is it because they are trying to get people to go back to that theater? It costs twice as much in NYC.

Eight bucks is low but not that low for this area. How was the theater? I heard they upgraded the seats?

5 minutes into credits and haven't gotten card back yet. Got a burger instead of nachos. People that got to their seats 10 minutes after me had food and drinks 15 minutes before.

On the plus side, the seats are awesome and the waiter walking around wasn't as distracting as I thought it'd be.

Oh and the theater was barely half full.

I know of a similar place that's better. They have really comfortable seating, good food, as much beer / drinks as you want, no distractions from rude audience members, and I can even have sex while watching the movie if I want.

And I don't even have to get in the car to go there.

Went too far there. Should've quit while you were a head.

It would be even better if somebody was with me.

I've been once and that was yesterday.. Had a great experience.. Seats were on point.. Food was what I expected but not as expensive as expected.. Service was fine.. I will be going there again and like any other theatre, I won't go on an opening weekend.

We are going watch SW again this Friday at MT in BR.

I'm hoping they have worked out some of the kinks, because the reviews in this thread aren't good but they seem honest.

Not only that but anywhere I see reviews for Movie Tavern it's either fine or horrible, but we are going to give it a shot.

I've been twice -- saw The Martian on the afternoon it came out and Star Wars the Saturday after it came out.
The service was a lot better the second time we were there. Seats are super comfortable and it's nice to have someone bring you a beer at the push of a button.

So if you were asking someone an opinion about a place and there were two people. One had been enough times to give you an informed opinion. The other had never been, no desire to go, and still gave you his opinion; you would treat them the same? You don't sound smart.

Might go check Movie Tavern out this evening. Not going to order anything. Just going for the comfortable seats.

With all the shitty opinions, don't want to push my luck ordering food.

As I posted earlier we went to see SW last night.

We had a great time. We were a party of 4. We got there pretty early and sat at the bar until the 30 minute call for our movie and we went in.

Waitress immediately took our orders. Our food came out in the opening seen so it did take about 25 minutes or so for the food.

The food was meh, over priced but it was still worlds better than any food at a regular movie theater.

Service was fine, we never had to click the button, she checked in without throughout.

Seats are very worth it. The hype is real.

I thought it needed a little more light to be able to eat during the movie. I know it's good to have it dark for the experience, but still.

Our movie was about half full so that may have made a difference, but we will be back for sure.
