How many people are going to get fired as a result of this movie bombing?

The Wiki articles I've seen refer to him as Winston Zeddemore, Ph.D.

But yeah, I guess the source isn't that reliable.

It's not going to bomb, it's going to do well. There are a lot of people that like these actresses and don't give a shite about the original ghostbusters.

That's not what's going on here.

Kate McKinnon only talked one time in the entire trailer.

Will not watch in theaters.

May watch eventually because of Kate McKinnon. She cracks me up.

Yeah...that's what they had his name as, so at first I was kind of like..."shite! Am I wrong here?!?" But I think maybe he was in the first drafts or something...or in the video games...etc. But if that was his actual backstory in the movie, they certainly made it seem like he wasn't. I don;t ever recall them introducing him as Dr. Zeddemore to anyone or anything. Not even when Annie Potts introducing him to the guys during his interview...just plain old Winston.

In the movie, he was the every man which did kind of make sense.

People just watched the trailer. A trailer is built to create excitement and "want" for a film. How can people not have honest reactions to the trailer itself?

It was what I was doing.

I was open to this and said so. I watched the trailer, and what they showed me looked remarkably like what all those who did shite on this movie before seeing anything said they were afraid it would be. It took the same formulas as the first movie and simply chopped off the dicks of the cast.

That's not an indictment of women, or women in this movie universe. It's an indictment of the process of simply inserting an actor that somehow LOOKS different into a role for the sole purpose of being different and thinking anything meaningful has been accomplished.

That's a legitimate gripe, but it's impossible to have if the retort is, "Well...you must hate women." That's said to be a conversation ender, thus my comment.

Reactions? Yeah. Actual discussion? Just typical, bitter drivel.

So we can have reactions, just not discuss them. Got it.

Fair enough, but you have to admit that 90% of the posts regarding this has makes no attempt to explain their displeasure.

Yeah, I'm advocating no discussion. That's exactly what I said...

it had an updated library scene and thats it.

And it had Leslie Jones standing on what appears to be an abandoned train line, a la Winston in GB2. And it has Kristin Wiig getting slimed. And it has the library scene like you mentioned.

I mean, "shot for shot remake" is a bit hyperbolic for sure, but let's not pretend that they aren't going to draw heavily upon the previous movies.

No. You're advocating that the discussion is "typical, bitter drivel". That shows displeasure for the discussion. No?

Do what now?

I don't hate women at all. I actually really like Kristin Wiig. She's awesome. I don't really care for Kate McKinnon though. Melissa mcCarthy is okay in doses, but her schtick is a bit tired on me.

I do completely fricking hate Leslie Jones though. You can come at me for that if you want. But me hating women is fricking ridiculous.

Honestly, I think that's more on SONY than on those discussing the movie. I mean, when I first heard about this and that they had purposefully cast all women in the title roles I winced. Not because I hate women or wasn't interested in seeing this universe again...but because the move reeked of typical BS of casting to appease interest groups.

But...I was still open to it, largely because I really like Kristin Wigg. But what I saw in the trailer was almost a dare to those who said they'd hate it before seeing anything. And going back to my first point, sadly all those who hated it before seeing anything look to be essentially right...so while I've wasted time going into why I disliked it, truth is I could have saved myself a ton of time and just said it sucked because of the obvious reasons.
