And it had Leslie Jones standing on what appears to be an abandoned train line, a la Winston in GB2.

Lol no. She is clearly shown to be working in a subway booth in that trailer. I'll bet dollars to donuts that scene is her at work, hearing some shite, walking down the line a piece to see what it is, and then she encounters a ghost which causes her to want to join the team.

Are you really going to complain about a movie set in NYC having a scene in a subway? Really?

And it has Kristin Wiig getting slimed.

Stop for a second here. Think about what you just said. This is a GHOSTBUSTERS movie. You think they wouldn't have a person get slimed in a Ghostbusters movie? Are you kidding me?

People just watched the trailer. A trailer is built to create excitement and "want" for a film. How can people not have honest reactions to the trailer itself?

The vast majority are still at the "It's as I thought it would be" stage. The same people that hated the idea, then hated the photos, and now hate the trailer.

This is still marketing, not the film, so people are still reacting to something they haven't actually seen. We've seen some pictures, some stories, and now a trailer. One side doesn't know that it's actually bad, and the other side doesn't know that it actually isn't bad.

No one knows.

Of course not. But the movie "having a subway scene" isn't the same thing as:
quote:

earing some shite, walking down the line a piece to see what it is, and then she encounters a ghost

That's almost exactly what Winston did, man.

I'm not sure what your agenda is here, but I simply was pointing out that there were more similarities to the original movies than just one.

And Slimer is the one who slimes people. So having him in this one is another similarity to the original movies. Just because it's a GB movie doesn't mean they have to have him in it or that someone has to get slimed.

I'm honestly not sure what your problem is really, but for some reason I feel like you're sort of barking up the wrong tree with me in here.

I don't think she's supposed to be a genius physicist.

It said those 3 were brilliant physicists didn't it? I'm not watching that garbage again so I can't be 100% on that.

What made the original Ghostbusters so great was because Akroyd, Murray and Remis played believable characters. Murray was not some genius scientist but a guy who saw ways to do research in order to get women and grants. Akroyd was believable as an insecure scientist who was interested in the paranormal. Remis was very convincing as a know it all encyclopedia of scientific knowledge. Plus they were much better at comedy then these 3 women could ever hope to be.
After watching this trailer, I will not ever watch this movie. Nothing was spectacular about this trailer. Nothing was convincing me that it is worth my time and money to go see this. Thankfully movie companies are not charging people to view their trailers. Maybe they should with this one bc it may be the only way they can recoup their money.

And Ernie was the everyday guy who didn't really believe it, but would for the paycheck.

I would have rather have a new all male cast than this shite. Seth Rogan, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson.

Wouldn't have been any better. Would've been another Rogan and Franco movie. Their fans would be happy, everyone else would bitch.

We'd have the same thread going.

Not really in comedy. Especially her. I mean she goes from taking a monster dump in a sink to this?

I like that Leslie Jones is basically playing herself. Shows a lot of depth. She deserved this role.

I both agree (grass is always greener) and disagree.

That cast doesn't really inspire much confidence either, tbh. But there are casts out there that could get people excited.

These 4 women are certainly not any of them. Wiig, maybe, with the right people around her. And I still think the movie would have benefited from real diversity, and it could have been more authentic, and not looked so much like a marketing ploy.

All she does is scream and act obnoxious. It's like the complete opposite of what Ernie Hudson was.

The trailer manages to be boring. Impressive level of failure. Just confirms the suck level will be cranked up to 11 on this one.
