I havent yet watched tonights episode but I was highly concerned when I heard from Claire Danes that they haven't even finished writing the final episodes for this season and were pretty much just winging it. That's the kind of shite that ruined Dexter and it's going to result in this shows downfall.

You can be damn sure that Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad were doing this type of shite.

Hope they don't frick this up.

Not at all.

The only problem I have with this so far is that the bullet proof vest Quinn was wearing won't stop a shot from a high powered rifle like Carrie fired at him. The bullet would go through it with no trouble. As a matter of fact, it would have gone though the back of the vest, through Quinn's chest, and then come out the other side of the vest. And yet Quinn has not so much as a broken rib or shatterd spine from the impact of a round that makes a 44 Magnum seem like a BB gun in comparison?

IRL he'd be deader than a door nail.

It's little implausibilities like that which bug the shite out of me.

I do have to admit that the lack of continuity between this season and the last one has irked me some too. They didn't have the problem between the first four seasons. And that's the single worst thing that bugged me about Dexter. The issues not as bad with Homeland as it was pretty much between every season of Dexter, but seeing as I just got through this afternoon binging on the first four seasons of Homeland on Netflix, it's pretty glaring in that respect.

I'm enjoying it

Can't believe Saul is selling out like this.

All he ever wanted was Carrie. Now he has the next best thing.

I'm just happy to see Saul is banging someone other than his man faced wife. It is one of the more hideously unattractive things I've ever seen. Look away!

Also agree on the vest. I don't know if the bullet would have gone through it, but I doubt very much you'd just pop back up and be good as new.

i agree on the vest as well, however i dont let stupid small shite like that get to me to the point of not watching the series anymore.

what does bug me about that is you know they put about 8 writers in a room plus the cast and read through these scripts. when they got to that part and had Carrie grab a fricking deer rifle, why didnt someone raise their hand and say, "um guys, that shite wouldnt work." why didnt they just have her grab a general hand gun or something.

anyways, i think the show has done a great job of reinventing itself. last year(finale aside) was terrific TV and ive enjoyed the Germany plotline this year. theyve done a good job of diversifying and not being 100% about Carrie

one question though- how long has Saul been nailing the chief? why did he make a scene like that and yell at her for going above his head and why did she go above his head? i dont get that. why is she trying to stab him in the back if they are together?

Yes, if you have a DVD account. You can get a lot more stuff on Netflix on DVD than through streaming.

Remember last year when they had the shootout with the Marines and the Taliban in that square and the bad guys bullets were ripping the Marines apart? The Marines were wearing much better armor than Quinn and still got massacred. That was pretty close to reality. I know you don't know me from Adam so you don't have any reason to believe I know what I'm talking about, but that round Carrie fired was a lot bigger and traveling a lot faster and therefore has a hell of a lot more energy than a pistol round, which is really the only kind of bullet a bullet proof vest is proof against. The rifle bullet would have taken most of Quinn's chest cavity with it when it came out the other side of the vest. I couldn't tell the exact caliber. 7mm mag or .300 Win mag maybe? From what little I saw of the bullets it looked to be something like about a .270 or .300 but with a larger case. It looked like a hunting rifle more than a sniper rifle so I doubt it was a .308 or the like.

Rest assured I'm not about to stop watching now. I still love the show all around.

This. Made no fricking sense.

I could see him bashing her in public to put on a show of "professionalism" and hide the fact that he is sticking her, but WTF would he do it privately and WTF would she try to frick him over politically while she is doing it literally?

I don't know what you're talking about. This season is going great!

Controlled craziness is good.

And it worked...in the end.

I've enjoyed the season thus far.
Quinn blowing up that guy in episode one was epic.

I was surprised when I found that out myself about the better selection in DVDs. I just so happened to be at my moms house killing time and thought I'd stream some of the stuff in my queue and I was shocked at how little of the stuff I was going to get on DVD was available to stream. I guess the rental business is regulated and licensed differently than the streaming side of the operation.

That was one of the worst Homeland episodes I've seen. Carrie's breakdown at the cabin was COMICAL. Terrible acting and this is coming from someone who thinks she is a great actress. Woof, just terrible. You can tell they're winging it. It reminds me of Season 5 of Dexter. tDecline is REAL.

Actually, it was damn authentic. I only wish I could think of it as comical, because then, I would never have encountered anyone like her IRL.

What titties?

To show 'em, she'd actually have to have some.
