It was solid, but felt more like a series finale.

There wasn't a single clue or twist that could lead into another exciting season.

I think they could have done more with the Otto proposal. Just had him meet with some shady character after or something.

I want him to try and make Carrie the new Allison leveraging her daughter.

I think this last episode was meant to be able to serve as a series finale if needed. It didn't get renewed until just a couple weeks ago, long after shooting was over. And if I'm not mistaken there was originally the intention mentioned earlier this year that this was to be the last season for both this show and The Affair. I think the response to both series this year greatly exceeded expectations and gave further life to both, thankfully.

From Carrie's actions right at the end you have to think she put Quinn out of his misery, but like I said I think that was left ambiguous because when it was shot they weren't sure there would be another season and they left themselves some wiggle room in either case. It works as a series finale and as a cliffhanger for another season.

If he is alive next season, one sub-plot will be his physical recovery and probable handicaps and the way he deals with all that, depending on how much of time jump they write into the story.

It just would not be the same if Quinn is not his top shelf bad arse self. Don't have any desire to see him disabled and vulnerable to every thing unless somehow they come up with a new Bionic Quinn with a chip in his head to replace his severely damaged brain.Carrie could keep a can of 3 in 1 oil on her all the time to keep the gears churning in his head. Since he's probably gone next season, he will be fondly remembered.
