Solid episode tonight, but I didn't care for the next week preview. Won't spoil...

I enjoy the series and that's all I really care about.

This station chief is the worst person to be in bed with, not literally. I'd pound her 60 year old arse in the ground.

ignoring that one episode where they felt forced to make carrie go crazy, this season has been pretty balls out

ever since season 2 started in the middle east with a pretty intense start in the middle east, i felt this show had built enough structure in season 1 to allow for a pretty expansive spy show. the problem is that the creators feel they had to rely on the issues/themes created in season 1 (brody, brody's family, carrie's bipolar disorder, carrie's desire to frick brody). this dragged the show a bit through season 3

last season was very solid breakaway but ended terribly

I feel like the writers think we'll all get confused and distressed if they abandon Carrie's mental health angle. I think most people would love it if it would continue to transition into a pure espionage series. Someone start a change.org petition so we can tell them nobody gives a shite about Carrie's personal storyline.

i was writing about this in another thread about "hooks" in horror/sci fi movies, but they apply elsewhere

carrie's mental illness is a "hook" and the creators just think it adds drama and a wrinkle that's important and/or they'd feel stupid if they let it go now b/c it was such an important part of her character for 2 seasons (when in reality it's just forced and silly. this season was a great example of how bad it can be)

agreed

Geez Homeland... the 1980's called and wants it's storylines back. Uhh, sorry.

Ton's of potential there with several interesting characters to build on, but Carrie is like an anchor dragging the show down.

Agreed. I think this show definitely has the potential to do something similar like what True Detective and American Horror Story does with a new cast/story line every season. Although, I do love Quinn and Saul.

Seems like the German dude is going to come full circle.

He has basically acted as a double agent as well. BSing Carrie about having "wings" and then telling the guy from inglorious bastards she is crazy and won't be renewed.

Can't believe she hasn't tied Allison into the whole thing yet.

I took that as him being in love with Carrie and telling him that so he would stop wanting to help her

He basically told him that right after Carrie said they had broken up

that makes sense

carrie's pheromones must be amazing

that was a really good episode even with the "go back to the car and the driver has his throat cut" meme

Does anyone else think Dar and Saul know about Alison and are playing her to get what they want? It just feels like they are trying too hard when they are together with other people.

It did cross my mind last episode. Who knows, though?

with their private exchange about israel and then saul "defecting" to israel, it doesn't seem to make sense

it would be like the issue with the "total recall" dream theory (if it's a dream, there should be no scenes without Arnold)

I think 1 is clueless and one's finally starting to understand.

Sal is the latter, Dar the former.

Yeah, why would they not hang around after offing the cab driver.

Saul not having a clue about Allison is also a head scratcher.

This. Carrie not putting it together even after hearing a woman's voice on the other end of the phone is also annoying.

we almost had a full blown carrie face this episode

expert CIA operative and hacker using Google (with a reshowing of the obvious flash back for idiots) was a nice touch

then we had like 1/4 of a carrie face

i found myself yelling at my tv for her to go full carrie face.

they made Quinn come off stupid this episode. Like he wouldn't have been able to smell that something was up and gotten the frick out of dodge? He's way too good of an operative to fall for some shite like that.

All in all, seemed like a filler episode
