How in the hell is this movie nominated for so many awards, it was awful! And I love action movies. The whole picture was them driving out to the middle of no where and then turning around and going back. No background story, no character development, not much of a plot.

Costume design or cinematography sure. But best picture? What a joke.

That's about the only thing that really grabbed me with the movie.

Visually it was very intriguing, and it had some intense action sequences. The rest of the movie had no substance.

The fact that this movie was nominated and Ex Machina was not is a joke.

Gave up at the first vehicle exodus when the guitar player on the roof came up. Too much BS for me.

The movie was bad, other than cinematography and the costume design.

Hexx event a fire plug could have played Tom's role in the movie and it would have been the same.

The awards are, generally, bought and paid for by their filmmakers. Folks may not like that truth, but the truth it is.

Watched it two weeks ago after all the praise. It was decently entertaining but award worthy?? (besides visuals)

You had to see it in theatres to appreciate the cinematic masterpiece

How are films judged today, other than by the quality of their visual effects? Plot, acting, storytelling are all secondary (at best) concerns in big budget releases, even many of the "Oscar-bait" films.

I guess so. I'm not a movie snob by any means, but I just kept expecting something to happen besides a bunch of car chases /wrecks.

Saw it in the theater. Fell asleep. Saw Ex Machina in the theater. Bought it.
