Not sure if radio personality counts but I was heartbroken when Kidd Kraddick passed.

Ill Add George Carlin if he hasn't been mentioned. I know he actually made it to old age, but I'm a huge stand up fan. to me he was best of all time at it.

Ones already mentioned

Farley
Irwin
Kidd Kraddock (good mention earlier)
Britney Murphy oddly enough
Ledger
and of course John Lovitz

Hartman and Farley were tough because I liked their shows.

I'll add Shane McConkey

No contest for me, John Lennon. I remember Howard Cosell announcing his death on a Monday night football game as if it were yesterday. It was such a shock.

Doesn't happen often, but I remember being legitimately upset when Steve Irwin died. My old roommate and I used to watch Crocodile Hunter shite constantly.

Weirdly enough, I expect to be legit bothered whenever Bill Murray eventually dies. That will make me sad honestly.

Phil Hartman was the one that got to me the most. I loved everything he did. Totally "got" him.

Still feel bad about it.

Robin Williams hit me hard. As someone who has fought depression off and on, to see him kill himself because of it was tough. With all the support that he could have leaned on and it still couldn't save him, it made me think "What chance do I have?"

Layne Staley - hearing of his death and then learning of the manner in which he lived the last few years of his life is haunting to me.

Dimebag Darrell - Straight-up crazy people in this world.

Ron Santo and it's not even close. I still miss him when I listen to Cub's games on the radio. When you listen to over a 100 hundred games a season, summer after summer, the guy became like that old familiar voice. Like family. Even today, when the action on the field turns a certain way I can still imagine how Ronny would react and can hear his voice.

Plus he wished my son a happy 5th birthday (my brother sent in the request) and talked about some of the things written in the email for a few minutes. My boy liked listening to the games and singing along to the 7th inning stretch. Ronnie thought that was nice.

In that same vein, Harry Caray. He was lots of fun to listen to. I think I watched every WGN Cubs game in 86 and 87.

Payne Stewart -- the way the plane was in the air for a long time without knowing for sure what was happening, the whole thing was sad and strange.
