Chris Farley and Jon Candy upset my teenage self. I think I was most shocked by Phil Hartman and Robin Williams.

The first three really got me.

Phil Hartman was pretty damn shocking.

A lot of the drug overdoses weren't too shocking.

Robin Williams was a surprise. I knew he has past addiction problems but didn't know about the depression.

Ritter definitely came out of nowhere. He was so damn good in Bad Santa and Slingblade. Small roles but he nailed them.

Hoffman really hit me because I probably see more of his movies than the others but it wasn't unexpected.

Think I will stick with Phil Hartman. Troy McClure and The Real Deal Bill McNeil.

Surprisingly probably Kidd Kraddick if you can call him a celebrity. That shite sucked.

Robin Williams' death put me in a bad mood for a few days but I was legit sad when Kraddick passed

Robin Williams was the first actor I was ever a fan of, so I guess him.

I don't see why the death of a person you've never met would get to you, but I was disappointed that Heath died.

I wanted to see what he could do as the Joker again.

I mean it's a person you're a fan of that you enjoy and now you'll never see that person do anything ever again.

Stevie Ray Vaughan (August 27, 1990)

A coworker who listened to the radio at work came and told me. That shite hit hard.

A few months later (Nov. 7, 1991), same guy came in my office and said, "You won't believe this. Magic Johnson has AIDS." Magic's still kicking, but that was some shocking arse news back then.

Another one pretty bad for me. I thought he'd beaten heroin. (But you never really can - once you start to fight heroin, best you can hope for is a draw.)

Stuart Scott. Probably the most likable television personality and really a pioneer as far as sports broadcasting.

Robin Williams for sure. Guy was kind of an idol of mine and tried to emulate him at a young age. It really shook me.
