Anyone else think comic book movies are trying to get to complex with their plot? I really hope they keep Infinity Stones simple. Thanos wants them, gets them, and Avengers have to stop him. They don't need to throw a storyline about Avengers trying to get along with Guardians. They don't need a storyline about any future movies.
Thanos is evil and has the stones. He needs to be stopped. Boom there is the entire movie plot.

thats more of an animated comic book movie. i prefer some complexity to most of the movies i enjoy, not just superhero ones. i dont want just pure action, i like to see these characters truly come to life.
eta: i think this has lead to a lot of Marvel's success: they stay true to their characters and treat them like real people.

Thanos hits Stan Lee with his car and the judge sentences him to be Stan's butler.

quote:I hope not. Dr. Strange actually intrigues me more than any comic movie coming out. Yes, as a diehard DC and Batman fan, I'm looking most forward to Suicide Squad. But Dr. Strange looks to be more different than anything I've seen in the genre. The director of Sinister and Deliver us from Evil doing a comic movie? That sounds cool as hell, honestly.

Captain America: Civil War isn’t just a great Marvel movie, it’s a great movie. And that greatness - which is dependant in part on the groundwork laid by 12 previous movies - is the final proof of the concept that Marvel Studios first tried out in Iron Man back in 2008. It’s the film that proves the shared universe concept isn’t just cool, and isn’t just a great marketing idea but that - when used right - it creates a kind of gripping, resonant longform storytelling that no one else has ever accomplished on this scale. Civil War isn’t great despite being the third Captain America and thirteenth overall Marvel movie - it’s great because of those things.

What is that? Like 30%? And now all you marvel fanboys have to suck on the fact that BvS got a better score. Eat it!

The shaming of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will continue apace — or better still, be forgotten entirely — in the wake of “Captain America: Civil War,” a decisively superior hero-vs.-hero extravaganza that also ranks as the most mature and substantive picture to have yet emerged from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If they REALLY want to be ballsy:
1. Introduce Adam Warlock as a major character in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.0. Hint that he has a dark side that he struggles to keep in check.
2. Have Warlock appear in Thor: Ragnarok and Captain Marvel.
3. Have Warlock be the one who stops Thanos in Infinity War: Part 1...but in doing so, his MAGUS persona takes over (Magus is FAR WORSE than Thanos).
4. Warlock/Magus is the antagonist for Infinity War: Part 2.

People keep talking about superhero movie fatigue, but Marvel is just now hitting their stride. Sure Iron Man was their first and remains in the top 5 Marvel films, but most of the early ones (Hulk, Cap 1, Iron Man 2, Thor 1) Were all fairly meh.
Then we got Avengers, Winter Soldier, and GotG. Not to mention Ant-man and Avengers 2 being pretty good. Only downers really were Thor 2 and Iron Man 3.
Civil War looks like it's one of their best yet and Doctor Strange looks great. Guardians 2 should be fun, the best spider-man apparently gets his first movie, and then we get our darkest Marvel yet with Thor 3 which also happens to be a Thor-Hulk buddy space movie?
Then we get the much anticipated Black Panther and a quick turn-around to the big event Avengers 3. It seems to me like Phase 3 is going to be the best phase yet.

These reviews are much better than I really could have hoped for. Spider-Man I thought looked like a cheese fest in the trailer, but they apparently pulled him off perfectly. Was also thinking it didn't have a chance of getting to Winter Soldier standards, and was worried with them playing it safe. Seems those fears are entirely unwarranted.

I agree, Age of Ultron was meh as frick and Whedon played it wayyy too safe and he knew it and bailed out. It kind of soured me on the superhero flicks and then Ant Man gave me hope again.
My favorite Phase 2 film outside of Winter Soldier and Guardians was Ant-Man. It wasn't great, but there was just something about it. Hell I bought it on Blu Ray.
And then BvS came out and soured me on the genre again
