Tim had this game to close out the series and win the title:

21 points
20 rebounds
10 assists
8 blocks

Kobe without question.

Duncan was never at any point the best player in the game imo. I also remember how he always tried to dodge guarding Shaq during the Lakers' three peat lol

Seems like a weird opinion, given Duncan won more MVPs than Kobe.

Kobe averaged over 35ppg that year, which i dont think anyone has gotten close to since. even westbrook this year, on a team of nobodies, was under 32ppg.

Leading the league in scoring doesn't make you the best player in the league.

Duncan. Same amount of championships and Finals MVPs, but with one more MVP. Plus Kobe routinely got clowned by his own teammate

his scoring average that year was about 10-15% higher than the league leader for most years. a strong argument can be made that kobe was the best player in the league for a 1 to 2 year stretch when shaq started fading and right before lebron entered god status.

Plus Duncan took less money so that the spurs were able to keep or get the players they needed to continue to compete for championships. Timmy won titles in 3 different decades.

Duncan competed in 6 finals and Kobe 7. The Lakers never were too strapped for cash to compete with Kobe despite what people want to believe.

Meh. Clearly I right now would take the cash.

But Tim Duncan has an estimated net worth of 150 Million. When you are that rich, you look for shite that money cant buy. Like MVPs......

Kobe is in that 15-25 range

This is criminally stupid. Let's say Kobe is 25th all time, please post 1-24 for reference.

Kobe has been overrated for so long that people are now underrating him.

To answer the original question, I would rank Duncan ahead of Kobe, but I do think that one of the main knocks on Kobe (he played with Shaq and Phil) isn't applied to Duncan when you consider the insane consistency the Spurs have had under Pop. Perhaps their best team was when Duncan was in the twilight of his career.

I think 15-20 is fair.

We've come so far in the last 10 years to really better understand the role of efficiency in today's game. Knowing that, I just don't think you can put Kobe in the top 10, and 15ish/closer to 20 seems more fair, and I certainly don't think it's "stupid"
