You ducked my arguments to re-direct the convo, but I will say this: Los Angeles County is pretty big bro. I've lived there. Green rolling hills for miles, mountains, beautiful beaches, if you can't enjoy L.A. county on a scenic level I feel sorry for you

I don't have much experience with the entire county, mostly the coastal area. I just know that I enjoyed Laguna and Santa Barbara, while the area between was pretty lame IMO.

I think it's great the Lebron fanboys ignore the iron-clad stats I'm laying out, but choose to comment on my conjecture. Yes, he had the game vs the Suns as an 8 seed just like Lebron had that game vs the Celtics where he quit & bolted for Miami.

Anyone care to comment on the STATS posted?
I'm not responding to anymore conjecture replies, because it's disingenuous at best trying to sneak past those pesky arguments that give Lebron a run for his money SMH

It's very simple. If you're trying to assert that Kobe is better than Lebron, then there is no point in arguing with you because that is delusional. And just because someone doesn't have Kobe ranked in the top 5 or so does not make them a Lebron fanboy. I find it curious that you just assume the only reason someone wouldn't rank Kobe that high is due to them trying to prop Lebron up. That seems like you are doing some projecting there.

There it is: I've never said that. But you just exposed your bias.

I merely laid out da facts. Facts that you have yet to respond to because you want the pages to pile up so nobody responds to those arguments that are in conflict with your bias

Your entire argument is hinged around calling out Lebron fanboys. Why is that?

Okay troll. Keep ignoring the fact Kobe had more 1st team all defensive selections than Jordan, & that Kobe not only a top 5 defensive guard of all time, he is top 5 in scoring all-time.

But he is only a 15-20 at best, while Lebron is absolutely the #2 best player dominating that weak JV arse Eastern Conference his entire career

Being elected to all defensive teams is not a stat, well I guess technically it is a stat, but it is based upon subjectivity. Especially, when he was elected to these all defensive teams, the actual stats that are used to measure defense in today's NBA weren't even developed yet.

And you keep talking about bias, yet how in your world is someone thinking Lebron is top 2 and Kobe not top 5 make them biased?

Let's see, all time rankings:

ESPN - Kobe 12 Lebron 3
Fox Sports - Kobe 12 Lebron 2
CBS Sports - Kobe 10 Lebron 2
Sports Illustrated - Kobe 12 Lebron 5

You don't have to be a biased Lebron fanboy to admit he's better than Kobe and also that Kobe hovers in the 10-12 range.

I posted my top guys, Kobe's at 12. I don't have a problem with moving him ahead of Oscar or Hakeem, so put him at 10. I never said 15-20, just that I wouldn't argue it. Tell me who he's better than on my list of 12 players.

They used OPP FG% against (which is more accurate 1 on 1), but that wasn't a published stat for the public pre-internet explosion.

Tape don't lie, & it's a shame many posters here aren't old enough to recall peak Kobe locking people down on D. Seriously. Players & coaches who competed against him don't lie either when voters ask their input (sauces)...all of these factors which go into selecting all defense.
Kobe Lockdown D highlights

Well, did they use Diff%? Because that is a more accurate representation of how a player affects the shots that are taken against him. If a person always shoots 25% from 3, but shoots 32% from 3 versus you, that OPP FG% may look go alone (32%), but the Diff% is shite.

Go ahead & try to tell me players shot a higher % vs Kobe I need a good laugh.

I love knowing which posters put bias ahead of their own eyes with YouTube preserving tape of his defensive prowess, since apparently it's a big conspiracy that Kobe is one of the best defenders of all time

Kobe for sure. Duncan was a great player but he benefited greatly from the system he played in. Look at the Lakers post Kobe and the Spurs post Duncan.

Yea, I'm not sure why he's not calling out all the biased Jordan fanboys who are diminishing Kobe to prop up Jordan historically. Or maybe it's the Magic/Shaq/Kareem/Bird fanboys that keep putting Kobe down because he's such a threat to their standing. Fact is, nobody was really discussing Kobe with regards to Lebron until he came in flinging insults.

Ok kids. Quick lesson: the media pushes narratives THAT CUSTOMERS WANT TO HEAR.

Kobe is retired. Why the hell would they market a fading star, which would alienate their core market: Lebron fans/haters? Of course they are going to prop up Lebron because that's what the readers want.

Lebron is a great player on his own merit, but if you think modern media outlets are the pinnacle of journalistic integrity whose narratives should guide your perspective, I don't know what to tell you. Hence, why I laid out statistical facts & video evidence for the eyes to see

By what measure? He led the league in scoring twice, same amount as Russell Westbrook. Kevin Durant has already done it four times.

A. I thought you said earlier that you weren't arguing Kobe is better than Lebron. With each passing post it sure seems that you think Kobe is better.

B. Explain then why Kobe is ranked 10-12 as a retired player and the only active player ranked above him is Lebron? All those other retired players in the top ten, why are they there? Media doesn't have any reason to push one retired player over the other.
