with such short notice just make it a catch weight fight at 160lbs against any of the top lightweights.

Pettis, Cerrone, Tony Ferguson, Eddie Alveraez, Nate Diaz.
check with any of those fighters and see if they are ready to fight. Any of them would give McGregor the toughest fight of his career and good chance they beat him.

Hell no, McGregor is primed and ready to fight. However might be the smartest move for the UFC and McGregor to postpone it until DosAnjoes is ready just from a financial viewpoint,. Mcgregor could lose to any of the top lightweights and blow the big payday that would come from a 155lb championship fight.

It is too short of notice they should just postpone the fight and let Holm vs Tate be the main event, But if anyone gets the fight it should be Frankie

Now that I think about it, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see a Edger vs McGregor fight announced at 155lbs. It's a fight that McGregor won't lose (if fought at 155) and a fight that can easily be sold to the public. Edger probably being the most deserving fighter as he was next in line of the featherwights. Hopefully Edger is smart enough to turn it down if offered (unless it is at 145 and for the featherweight title and he has been in serious training which I doubt any of that is the case)

Frankie is injured. His best chance to beat McGregor is at 145 anyways.

I was just listening to a podcast with one of mcgregors coaches and he swore they never prepared for one fighter. They worl everyday in his skill set and thats why a change of fighter never bothers him because he doesnt have a set camp for one fighter.

Conor gets another big name on short camp. I still think mendes doesnt gas if has a full camp. I would love for it to be diaz.
And i like how some on here are calling a broken foot a "injury"

He moved down in weight because he was very small compared to those guys. Guys like Benson Henderson and DosAnjos physically dominated him and dwarfed him in size. He is much more natural at 145 and probably could even fight at 135 looking at his frame.

But yes, he would be a game fighter vs McGregor at 155. Maybe just the fight McGregor and the UFC is looking for so as not to end the gravy train.

(other than the broken foot thing)

Yes and he also hasn't won at 155 since 2012. He's a featherweight and one of the best two in the world at that weight.

Cowboy is the obvious answer with the recent shite-talking and Cowboy's want to fight as often as possible. He would love a McGoober payday.

McGregor vs Diaz would be the all time great prefight trash talking championship and Diaz isn't going to be out done in the trash talking dept. and the any prefight media events with both those two on stage would be crazy. Diaz wouldn't back down one bit or hold back like others have done with McGregor

since he just came off a fight that he finished quickly and appears uninjured. Should be in great shape. Just would have to cut some weight as he fought at 170. That would be a great fight and the obvious fight other than he would pose a big threat (of beating McGregor)to a big payday championship fight for McGregor vs DosAnjos if UFC and McGregors camp are willing to go that route.

Too big of a risk to put McGregor in there with another top lightweight without the belt on the line. McGregor could lose, get injured, or go through a war thereby increasing the time between the superfight. Not worth it. Just postpone it for a few months.

Kind of depends how long RDA will be out.
