He moved down in weight because he was very small compared to those guys. Guys like Benson Henderson and DosAnjos physically dominated him and dwarfed him in size. He is much more natural at 145 and probably could even fight at 135 looking at his frame.

But yes, he would be a game fighter vs McGregor at 155. Maybe just the fight McGregor and the UFC is looking for so as not to end the gravy train.

(other than the broken foot thing)

He never fought Dos Anjos.

Benson is bigger than Conner. Most people thought Frankie beat Benson. If he had gotten a decision he would still be fighting at 155.

As much as I agree that they should postpone the fight, I don't think they will. I heard on the radio this morning when the news broke that there was mumbling about McGregor fighting someone else and then fighting again in June against Dos Anjos.

Not clue if that's legit or not, just what was heard on DFW sports radio.

But that ruins the whole Conor-Lawler at UFC 200 super-world ending fight. frick RDA.

I hope Jesus got the warranty on his single tool.

Connor vs Lawler was never going to happen.

Lawler will fight GSP and Conner vs RDA will probably be the co-main event

that was 4 years ago. The division has advanced a lot since then. Edger could never be the champion at 155 these days. HIs frame is just to small, thus the move to 145 where he can compete. He would be a game fighter for McGregor at 155 though (or might be a quick knockout). But Edgar would be stupid to fight McGregor at 155 (unless the money is just to good to pass up). Be a good safe fight for McGregor though at 155 and a fight the UFC can sell.

how? If anything its worse now considering Cerrone and RDA were middling fighters who have vaulted to the top of the division with Frankie moving down and Benson past his prime.

His frame is too small yet he's beaten bigger guys than RDA and Connor?

maybe some beefed up 145 (Edger), or 135 pounder (Uriah Faber, his opposing coach on TUF)), that McGregor won't lose to (fighting at 155) and that the UFC can market as a big fight.

Now that I think about it, can't see them risking it against one of the big dogs in 155 lb class even with as much as everyone would love to see it.

Just spoke to @malkikawa, @showtimepettis’ manager, and he said they have reached out to the UFC this AM. They want the McGregor fight, too.

Pettis vs McGregor would be pretty sweet as a "fill in" card. Winner gets RDA upon return.

How about have Khabib step in?

196 is garbage without Conor on it. Have Jose get a rematch but at 155. Have CM Punk step in at 170. Anyone.

KBeezy, would you be down?

Khabib is a blanket. No way the ufc is going to let McGregor lose his shine on a last minute fill in like that.

Denham game room sounds like a cool place though, I will say.
