Sam Hinkie would have been fully marginalized in Sixers front office, with Jerry and Bryan Colangelo -- if hired -- running operations.

Honestly, I don't like him but that's kind of harsh. They knew what his plan was. It's silly to completely buy in and go overboard and then kill it halfway through.

The guy tanked for years then got fired. It's a strategy I'm sure he'll regret forever

Wow

Lebron Jr's only a decade away from being draft eligible.

Shoulda let the process play out.

They're 2 and a half years into it. If you wanted to go through the whole tanking and drafting thing, you have to give it at least 4 or so years. Hinkie just took it way farther than anyone else has ever been comfortable with.

Forced out by colangelo so colangelo could bring in ... His son to be GM. Wow. Of course hinkie will get no credit when the sixers are a playoff team season after next when.

It's honestly absurd. They knee his strategy when they hired him. He pitched a 5 year process to go from getting from a fringe playoff team in the terrible east to a regular contender. If ownership agreed to go that route, they shouldn't can the guy half way through.

He did what you unfortunately have to do. When you suck arse, hitting on one draft doesn't get it done. You need to draft well for several years. The only teams that have gone from shite to great quickly are ridiculous outliers.
