Is this fight expected to draw more bets and viewers than the super bowl?

Boxing is classic and timeless..it's the sweet science. MMA is geared towards today's mindset. It lacks the charisma and charm or even the sophistication (dare I use that word to describe such a primitive sport, but boxing can truly show you the heart, spirit , strength and bare the soul of a man) that boxing has the ability to showcase.

Larry Merchant, is that you?

Not to mention the arrival of MMA, which bores me in a similar fashion as some of you seem to be bored by boxing.
I think MMA strikes a chord with males between the ages of 15-40 because so many dudes think they can do it hahahahhaa

I carry showtime and HBO , in large part, for boxing.

I know what you mean, but man, get some friends together and have em chip in. Make it a party, an event , an EXTRAVAGANZA! Hahahaha
It's a helluva good time if you do it old school!
Cook and drink and enjoy fight night!

I think HBO and Showtime have helped boxing in some ways. All Access and 24/7 appeals to a much broader base because it's lets you into the fighter's lives. Get to know em...pick sides. It's great!

The thread title says "to the boxing is dead crowd"

Seems like a perfect thread for someone who doesn't like boxing

Maybe so, just thinking that if he's bored by both , why bother even commenting.
But good point.

You also have more eligible bettors. I'd like to see betting dollars per capita. Keep it in perspective.

Yes because the only names the sport has left are facing each other. A fight they have publicized for almost half a decade. No fight has ever been hyped longer than this one. Boxing is dead, outside this fight tell me what two names will grab an audience after this fight is over?

There are probably more people betting on the Kentucky Derby than 50 years ago and nobody would argue that horse racing is "healthy. "

The reason this will shatter records is because boxing is dead. Yes this fight is huge but it is the first big fight in forever and people used to like boxing so everyone is going to watch.
