Doubtful with the Braves not having anyone else that could play the outfield and Prado having 3 more years under team control. They'd have to spend money on a solid OF in free agency or get something very nice in return for Prado. Problem is, Prado isn't going to land you too too much right now unless paired with one of our main pitching prospects and we've showed reluctance to do that.

Of course, everything changes depending on how his year is this year

I'm really worried about Jurrjens and Hanson...Scott Boras clients

Truth

I think we keep Hanson and let JJ go. JJ will probably be traded before his time ends in Atlanta with all the prospects we have that will be ready in the next two years.

I just hope he can get back to 2009 form to max out his trade value

I'd rather have Jurrjens right now, but I would be willing to bet a large chunk of money that if we traded Hanson he would go Adam Wainwright on us with someone else.

definitely true

Was not expecting so much inconsistency last year but I think he'll get that fixed with experience

I like them both, but give me Tommy Gun if I have to choose. For some reason I get the feeling Tommy would would be more likely to sign a long term contract with the Braves. I have nothing to base that on of course .

If I recall correctly Hanson dropped boras. I may be wrong but I seem to remember that for some reason. Personally, id like to see us try and build a package around JJ to bring an upton/rasmus/Braun type player to atl

You think he's untouchable?

A package for Braun would take a lot more than JJ as the centerpiece.

I realize that.

How about this: JJ, Delgado, B hitting prospect

Still wouldn't work, but getting Rasmus could work

We'll see how the year plays out but I definitely think JJ could be traded at the end of the year depending on how our studs in the minors are producing

JJ's trade value will be at it's highest point with a good year

Here's a decent write up regarding our pitching over the next three years. I haven't visited this site in a while, I thought it had died.

Waves of Pitching Talent

Looks like one guy is breaking down the Braves top 40 propsects as well.

I hope so. He overachieved his first year... and last year was much more of what he really is... he's basically a solid number 3.

Cool thanks for the site

Never heard of it before

It's amazing how loaded we are on the mound, I love it. I know Frank doesn't want to trade any of our guys but expect some trades to happen with one of two of the pitchers in the next couple years after this one

One thing I don't like about that site is Julio Teheran will be starting in 2012, no doubt. It's just a matter of who they get rid of to make room.

Keith Law ranked the Braves Minor League System talent 3rd behind Kansas City and Tampa. I'll take it!

Without knowing hardly anything about other systems thats awfully high for not having really any big hitting prospects, but the pitching more than makes up for it

Teheran at #10 yesterday in MLB's top 50 prospects is an absolute joke

Yeah, I was surprised he ranked us that high with our lack of bats in the minor league system. Pitching is definitely the main factor in that ranking. Even behind the big 3, there are several prospects with good potential.

We do seem to be accumulating some SS/CF type athletes. I guess we are hoping one or two of them will pan out! Mycal Jones - CF, Lipka - SS, Salcedo - 3B/OF, Andrelton Simmons - SS (changed from pitcher to SS, he's drawing some attention), Pastornicky - SS.
