re: East Baton Rouge official calls for moratorium on development in high-risk floodplains - glb on 9/21/17 at 2:05 pm
quote: And what about the people who didn't build in a flood plain but now live in one because people filled the flood plain up with dirt and houses? What area are you suggesting where this happened?
It definitely can happen over time. That's why a lot of cities have impleme...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: What major US city (like top 50) would fare best? - glb on 8/31/17 at 2:04 pm
The answer has to be one of the cities on the gulf coast that actually experience a lot of rain. The soil and plant life has as much to do with this as anything, so a region that experiences this type of rain would be more well suited.
This doesn't have as much of an effect when t...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

Don't get one because the dog would despise a Louisiana summer, and winter too really, but chessies are a badass dog. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: Does cold weather in Louisiana feel colder than some other places? - glb on 12/9/16 at 2:29 pm
The only problem with the humidity argument when saying it feels colder in the south is that normally when it gets cold like this the air is dry and the humidity low. Like right now the humidity in Baton Rouge is 27%. I have heard plenty of cold weather folk say the same temperature feels colder ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Official 2016 MLB Winter Meetings Thread - Aroldis Chapman to the Yankees - glb on 12/7/16 at 6:57 pm
I get why it has value. I just hate it. I'm throwing a tantrum about it. Let me do this.
I don't like that defensive metrics are included in it. I don't keep up with it as much as I use to, but I know they use to always state defensive metrics are very hard to accurately jud...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
I'm in Jax and the new track is very reassuring. We will hold out at home and just have a larger hurricane party.
