Since its just so easy to score touchdowns and all. Green Bays defense gets Arizonas boot up their arse all the way down the field, and curbed stomped for a TD. Game over. It's fine the way it is, I guess they could have stopped them the previous 4 quarters.

Meh. Defense is important in football too.

I mean, I suppose it would be cool if the other team at least got to receive once after a score and if they don't score, they're done.

But, it's not a huge deal to me. The reality is, there is barely a 3% advantage to receiving first so, most of the dissatisfaction is basically a human misperception issue.

Yeah, why even play defense? Might as well just let the offenses go out there and whoever has the more creative play wins.

Yes, but the point is that Arizona's defense had to do none of those things. Because they won the toss.

Should a home run in the top of the 10th end the game? First team to score a basket in OT wins?

Last one in regulation never should have happened. Still waiting for an explanation for no 10 sec runoff.

By the logic others are displaying, why not end the game when one team scores a touchdown at any point in the game. If you wanted to win, your defense shouldn't have let the other team score.

Oh...and CFB OT is an abortion. They should go back to ties (sometimes one team is not better than the other and a winner should not be decided by attrition)

Agree 100%. What percentage of drives in the nfl result in a touchdown? I'll bet less than 30%. If the defense gives up a td on the opening possession of ot the team deserves to lose.

not even close to the same thing, and you know that. You're looking for an efficient tiebreaker AFTER 60 minutes of play.

youre not taking into account how difficult it is to score a touchdown. It's not one swing, one shot. It's 11 guys against 11 other athletic guys moving the ball into the end zone. This, at the highest peak level of athletic ability in the sport of football.

Why isn't it? If you wanted to win the game, you shouldn't have given up that first quarter touchdown. Touchdowns aren't easy. That isn't too much to ask of a defense.

i think that example last night is a great example of how NFL overtime can work well

the excitement and stunning nature of that fitz run only reached elite levels b/c we knew what that meant for the game

if you remove the way NFL does OT then it's a cool play, but nothing special and something we'll forget in a year or 2

How about playing some D for once?

What? Did you even watch the game. It was 7-6 at halftime, and other than the busted play at the end GB played better D than AZ. AZ had that tipped pass TD. I would say the packers "played some D for once". One big play doesn't mean they didn't play any D.

It also can happen pretty easy with a hail mary or busted play, as we saw last night with 2 TD's in five plays.

For those of us who missed the final drive, what happened to make you yearn for :10 runoff?

illegal motion penalty. because it happened during the course of a play, no 10 second runoff.

Poor logic. By your logic, we should have protected gb because otherwise it would have made Rodgers hail Mary just a cool play we'll forget.
