The timpson QB looks real good. Probably too short to play QB in college.

Yeah. Aggy will likely use him like Christian Kirk.

Saw it today actually. This will be 5 finals. NS is 3-1. Duncanville finally got them last year.

Do they play every year?

4A DIVISION II: Gilmer (12-3) vs. Bellville (15-0)

Happy to see Gilmer back in the title game.

Timpson is a fun team.

4A DIVISION I: Anna (14-1) vs. Tyler Chapel Hill (13-2)

I swear Anna was a 1A or 2A school up until about 12 years ago, and they never won anything in any sport at the lower classes.

5A DIVISION I: Aledo (15-0) vs. Smithson Valley (14-1)

I’d pick this game if anyone wanted to watch a random Texas HS football game.

5A DIVISION II: Dallas South Oak Cliff (13-2) vs. Port Neches Groves (14-1)

Dallas ISD went from a decades long title game drought to SOC being an annual participant in the last three years.

Graduated from Bellville and will be at the game Friday. I don’t know a ton about Gilmer except they were the powerhouse in the years before I graduated in ‘09.

We’ve had some good teams but ran into the East Texas buzz saw for what seems like the last 10 years in a row. WOS absolutely owned us.

This year is a bit different though. Have a very highly ranked (should be a 5*) kid at DE and 3 1,000+ yard rushers. I saw Gilmer put up 80 last round, and of course beat Carthage before that, so it should be a fun game with very contrasting styles on offense.

watched NS vs Austin Westlake

NS not nearly as explosive as they have been, Duncanville should handle them again

This one is a beat down. Speed is just killing Tolar, who was picked to win by most.

NS I thought was way better than Westlake. What is scary is most of NS guys are juniors

Does UIL stream? I have YouTube tv so I don’t get Bally’s

Poobah you still in Austin area?

I could be wrong but due to there being an abundance of schools in each class, they have to make two divisions. Both are the same level of competition. I think it would be cool to have both state champions from each division of every class battle out for a Super State Champion of said class (DI champ vs. D2 champ).

Nothing random about Aledo having the most state championships of any school in Texas. A win this week will give them 12 overall and 11 in the last 15 seasons. That's fricking dominance.

When I'd drive back to Waco from visiting Louisiana id always pass through Mart and it amazed me that that small town has such a prestigious football program

Aledo is a fricking machine. I think the next closest programs have 8 titles. Would be interesting to see how they’d fair against 6A powerhouses.

And D’ville and NS are playing for like the 4th time in a row in the biggest class and division title game. Nuts.

Gone that way many times to LA and only ever driven through. I still feel the same.

I scrimmaged mart when I was a sophomore. They had a kid that went to Oklahoma State and won state that year

Are you from Waco? I grew up there.

They came in above the last cutoff number. We may see it.
