Yeah, if that 2nd UNLV team won they'd have that title. Everyone loves the tourney but it feels so wrong that 2 of the 3 best CBB teams of the last 25 years don't have championships.

Super Bowl XL when the Seahawks got screwed over.
Clay Bennett stealing the Sonics, then having them be really good.
The 2001 Seattle Mariners winning 116 games and not making it to the World Series.
In 1990 the Washington Huskies being ranked #2, then losing to a mediocre UCLA team, costing us the National Championship.

Both 99 UConn and 91 Duke were themselves great teams. I hate when teams like NC State and Villanova win.

The Saints turning the ball over five times and giving the 49ers the win in San Fran in January.
Without five effing turnovers, we would've won our second Super Bowl. No way Eli and the Giants could've beaten us in the Dome for the NFC Championship after we had already beaten them by 20+ earlier that season.

There also was no bounty in place on that day, as the defense did not make the trip to San Fran. I 100% disagree with Godell's claim of the Saints not stopping the bounty program after seeing this game.

As big of a sports fan as I am and as passionate I am for the teams I pull for (LSU, Saints, Hornets), I tend to appreciate any moment opposed to being "heartbroken" over the outcome. In most cases, even if what happens is what I am pulling for to not happen, I chalk it up as just another exciting moment in sports. It just seems like I enjoy sports more with that point of view.
With that said, as for as my teams. With LSU I was obviously disappointed with the outcome of the NC game, but the 2007 Arkansas game was probably one that was the most upsetting for me.
As a lifelong Saints fan, there have been many disappointing moments, but the Jacksonville game in 2003 was a "heart breaker" and I think it was in 1999 or 2000.. Somewhere around that time, but the Saints lost to the Cleveland Browns late in the game. Tim fricken Couch threw a bomb to Kevin Johnson (remember this because it also caused me to lose a fantasy football game) to take the lead and win the game.

2008 LSU-Alabama stung big time
2007 LSU-Arkansas
2000 Nebraska-Oklahoma hurt just due to a big bet I had placed on Nebraska

Jan 9 forever, I'll never get over it. The perfect season totally blown, the lack of effort and continuity, the drama, Bama. It still sucks.

Jan 9 vs Bama
Saints vs 49ers was pretty bad
But here's one no one has mentioned yet: Tom Watson at the Open Championship losing to Stewart Cink. Would've been the greatest golf victory in the history of the game, and one of the greatest sporting moments in history had Watson won at age 60.

Yeah Tom Watson almost winning at Turnberry in 09 was heartbreaking. If that approach shot on 18 hits a foot shorter, he probably wins

I went to that game. I came across some free tickets but that was a long drive arse drive. It took around 7 hours to get there if I remember right. I left at like 4am that morning and got back near midnight. As disappointing as that loss was, I can always say I witnessed the River City Relay in person. During the long drive home, I was able to get over the missed P.A.T by Carney.
The playoff loss to the Eagles in 1992 was tough. The Saints led 20-10 going into the 4th quarter. Philadelphia scored 26 points in the quarter and won 36-20, awful. I was pretty doown after the NFC Championship loss to the Bears in 2006, that took a few days to get over. The loss to the 49ers this past year was brutal, I still don't believe how that one ended.

2007 super bowl pats-giants. I was there and that fricking catch was a miracle.
Getting drummed a few years back in Oxford for the egg bowl. We were down 28-0 after the first quarter I think but since then we have won 3 straight egg bowls

I remember that game, but I was 14 years old and I wasn't in that stage of actually appreciate the details of the game (it seems like at that age I was just focused on who scored touchdowns and who won at the end). I do know the Eagles had a solid defense during that time.
As for as the Bears game in 2006.. Yeah, I guess I can add that one to my list as well and the 49ers game was tough as well. I think I allowed myself to forget about it.
I know there are a lot of "ifs" but IF Pierre Thomas would have been able to get a few inches more on that run he took that hit on, in the first quarter, we would have won.
Of course turning the ball over.. what? 4 times didn't help, but despite all those turnovers were were able to do everything but win the game.. ugggh..

1992 Duke vs. Kentucky.
We've even beat them since in the NCAA Tournament (and went on to win a National Championship that year as well) and I still can't get past that shite. It doesn't help that the shite is still plastered everywhere come tourney time.
2003 Kentucky loss to Marquette in the NCAA Tournament
Bogans stays healthy and we probably win a NCAA Title with that team. And thus began my irreversible hate of Dwyane Wade.

2002 World Cup Quarterfinal. Germany defeats US 1-0. Hand ball missed.
Was thinking about this this week. Hard pill to swallow

That one was a heart breaker. I was just starting to follow college basketball and hated Duke. I can only imagine being a UK fan.
