Unfortunately that isn't going to change until people start sticking up for their school, and pointing out all of the positives.

Pointing out positives of a school isn't going to stop the Charter schools from snatching up all these kids. Tuition prices are rising but the job market isn't getting better. I know people holding down several jobs for their kids to private schools but more and more are taking the free way out. Problem is these kids are getting Miller McCoy'd when they go to the charters. Some of these charters are baby sitting for high school students.

Episcopal is about 30 kids away from moving up to 3A. If there is any multiplier, they move up.

If that happens, they go from being decent in 2A to getting arse raped by U High, Parkview, etc., in district.

The current multiplier would put them in 4a...with PBS and uhigh....

I don't think the multiplier thing is going to happen anyway, because I think the voting will either be for a 6a or to recombine 4a and 5a and keep the small private schools separate in a select bracket. Of course there is now no way for the small privates to avoid Curtis, Evangel, Calvary, ND and PBS if they don't let them play up.

Somehow a respectable football discussion degenerated into an academics pissing match, but I'll play.

Kids can find a challenge and good to great education at any of the Catholic high schools, and ultimately I think the kids and parents have a much greater influence on success than the school itself. Rummell had a NMS in 2014. BM and HC had none. Jesuit had 34 while Franklin (public, free and much smaller) had 24. NM2014

HC has stepped up its academics, with a rigorous new scholars program with extra requirements like debate, latin and a thesis. HC scholars

St Aug and Shaw have also put out plenty of quality young men. One cause of the enrollment decline probably is the rebound of public opportunities, though that's also a silver lining for the community as a whole. Thomas Jefferson had a kid score a perfect 36 on the ACT.

The westbank also has Pat Taylor with a new 36 million dollar facility that is going to gobble up a lot of kids who would have gone to private school in addition to TJ. Also, Kenner is about to open up a Charter school that will accept high school students so a small portion of the Rummel/Curtis bloc will go there as well.

You're insufferable.

Gee, I wonder why he didn't go to the same high school as his older brother?

I wouldn't call Franklin much smaller. They have 897 vs. Jesuit's 1187. Proportionally, they perform worse as it relates to National Merit Scholars.

Simple its called competition. He woulda got his first serious playing time last year at WR but he woulda been the #3 WR. This year the #2 WR. His soph or Jr year he woulda never touched the field. Oh and to top that off he woulda never touched the floor in Basketball or even made the team. His parents are very smart they made a business move. They knew he was gonna be a stud at a place with very few to no D1 prospects that play in a great district.
