re: Private school reps met to discuss leaving LHSAA - RedPop4
Some of us saw "we" because "we" are currently paying tuition for our children enrolled in these schools. And unlike the "OT Ballers" we are involved in the lives of our schools and their endeavors in athletics and other pursuits. For some of us, the tuition, alone, ensures that we have a vested int...

And if you think that the ONLY reason is racism and integration, you are equally mis-informed. Lots of folks loooooooooove to cite and blame white flight for everything wrong with southern cities and New Orleans, as well. There are more factors at work in this history than that....

re: Private school reps met to discuss leaving LHSAA - RedPop4
I agree with this. Mr. Bonine was brought in on the presumption that he would shepherd a closing of the split, and the principals did the exact opposite. What's really raunchy is that in future years HE will be judged badly because of this, even though he tried and the principals not only ignor...

You don't get up and walk out the meeting and hold an immediate press conference saying "we're gone." I'm rather certain there has been some very confidential meeting and planning before the convention, and some early contingency plans formulated. But no way is anyone prepared to jump ship and tr...

re: What schools in LA have the best fan support? - RedPop4
East Ascension student section is raucus. Went there a couple years ago for a basketball playoff, and it was as intense as anything I've ever seen for basketball in this state. There wasn't a seat in the place, had to put fans on the stage; our visiting section wasn't overly large, and full. But da...

re: Is it good for private school with the new LHSAA playoffs for basketball? - RedPop4
All 102 that voted against the split should leave, if they're of a mind to do so. 30-40 would still be too small of an organization, in my view....

CLHS Trojans, We played y'all two years running in Mathews. My kids are bandsmen, and I will forever appreciate your school and the class you exhibit. In 2011, our longtime band director died. He was recognized nationwide in both H.S. band and DCI, he's in the DCI Hall of Fame, as a percussionist...

Many fans who have posted on this issue these last three or four years, think that the competition is a bit diluted, now, some will assert that the championships are tainted because of this. They state that 9 football championships are way too many for a state this size. The select division I ha...

Forgot all about L.W. Higgins, Helen Cox, John Ehret, on the West Bank of Jefferson Parish. B.M. has played most of them over the last five years that I've been watching, and, again, only West Jefferson at their place brought enough fans to even qualify as slightly representative. Are these r...
