Peabody had good teams during that time didn't come together really until the 2000 team.

The one that sticks out though is the late Charles Hayward. Big, physical center that basically did what we wanted. We didn't ask him to do much with his back to the basket, just rebound and put it back and BOY, would he! He had some of the most powerful 2 hand dunks I've still ever seen. Great player, top 100 I believe recruited by pretty much everybody, but chose UNC Charlotte for personal reasons. Never played much as he was diagnosed with Leukemia and passed in 1999.

and believe it or not, actually fricking lost to north ltitle rock the school KeVaughtn Allen is from they had this point guard that you just couldn't do anything with i forgot his name. they played 3 times NLR won 2 but Central beat them in the championship by like 6.

Demond Mallet from leesville was really good. Played against tierre brown and ben perkins. Both were really good.

All three ended up playing together at McNeese, following Perkins transfer back home from Providence.

I went to Glen oaks middle wirh Lester Earl and in high school i was bused across town to Istrouma High school.I was a freshman in 1990 and remenver watching Andre Burks in practice the guy was relentless and could jump out the gym .Lester Earl was dunking balls in the 6th grade lol. BUT OUT OF The 2 wiyh Andre being shorter he was more crafty .One game i seen andre go from the base line and dunk on Lester Earl.Andre Burks was a beast in high school

Since this was bumped.

Roy Candley, the 7'2 400 pounder out of Capitol High. I remember they didn't have team shorts that fit him so he wore P.E. shorts.

Ended up playing for Oklahoma State.

Parkview's run from 96-98 is the greatest thing of all time

What a time to be alive.

Parkview hires Don Green and he brings in these monster superstars to a white as frick decade or so old school.

Those teams were good as hell.

I believe Atlanta went 48-0 that year with a win over ouachita parish high school. They only lost like 9 games in 4 years and won 3 titles I believe.
