Smash Bros Link gives you Epona only once. Also can drop Twilight Link outfit. Otherwise elemental arrows, and supplies. The rare drops are random. They only give a small amount of supplies and can only be used each once a day, so that keeps them from breaking the game in my opinion....

They can help with resources and rare items. The guardian one is my most useful as I've gotten ancient cores in its daily drop. Finally broke down and ordered Smash Bros Link and Zelda because I want Epona and the Twilight Bow....

my understanding is that the other amiibo will also work and just drop random supplies. Though I could see Nintendo integrating some special weapons, bows, shields, or clothes in the game via specific amiibos. I mean they have the switch shirt if you get the expansion pass....
